“Wonderful”
Reviewed 11 September 2015 for a stay in March 2014

We stayed at this beautiful cottage last year, it felt like we were miles away from everything ☺The cottage was well equipped with everything you could possibly need, Colin and chris showed us around the beautiful gardens there they were so tranquil ☺we were abe to collect freshly laid eggs from the chickens each morning for breakfast and were delighted to be able to feed them,we had a wonderful time there and would recommend it highly, Thanks to our hosts for making us so welcome, Bernard &Sue.

“Amazing country cottage, with amazing hosts.”
Reviewed 8 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have recently returned from the cottage and would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. The beautiful cottage is located down a country lane (opposite the school) but feels miles away from civilisation (it's really not, with tesco and Aldi under 3 miles away)
We were greated by with a warm welcome by Christine and given a wonderful tour of the cottage and gardens. Christine knew we were bringing a young child (5weeks old) and organised a Moses basket and extra blankets, which we very much appreciated along with the biggest welcome pack I've ever seen including bread, milk, cheese, wine, too ,ugh to list really
The cottage itself was amazing. With an open plan design and a wonderful log fire it was amazing, and also had a full size table tennis and a pool table which kept us entertained on the rainy day.
When this place is advertised as having "gardens" it really doesn't do it justice. We went exploring and took us a good 15 minutes to explore all of the gardens including a ready build campfire, and shed full of wood and bbq stuff which we couldn't resist. A bbq next to a campfire in a wooded back garden in something that you have to try.
Christine and Colin are fabulous hosts and cannot wait to return.
Thanks for a wonderful stay

“Little piece of heaven5*”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here in august 2014 for a week with young children and our elderly parents.
Hospitality and welcome pack were fantastic!
Could not fault anything about this holiday cottage, breathtaking views, gardens were wonderful for our young son to explore, he loved feeding the chickens and eating the fresh eggs everyday!
Also always something to do in the house if the weather was bad I.e pool tables, table tennis, games etc..
Fantastic location close to some wonderful placed to see.
No other Holliday rental has ever compared! We will be re-booking for our next holiday soon!

“Lovely, restful spot”
Reviewed 5 June 2015 for a stay in September 2013

The cottage is spacious and very well appointed. We enjoyed our stay very much, perfect spot for children as there is a large hillside garden to explore and chickens to feed. Close to beautiful unspoilt coastline. The cottage is down a narrow lane but it isn't busy.

“Superb Welsh retreat with kind and generous owners.”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Have just returned from an excellent week's holiday at Coed Melin cottage.
It was everything we could have wished for and more!
Having found the place easily, tucked snugly down a pretty country lane, we were greeted by the owner and shown around.
She had supplied us with a 'welcome hamper' of bread, cheese, butter, wine, fresh orange juice, cereals, marmalade, spaghetti, fruit, chocolate cake, welsh cakes, bubble bath, etc, etc; I have never known a holiday cottage so well equipped! Fresh lilies had been placed in a vase in the centre of the living room; wild flowers from the woodland garden had been picked and adorned the dining table which was laid ready with cutlery, napkins and wine glasses. WOW!!
The living room was huge and had a table tennis table, (complete with medals and chocolates for the winner.) There was also a pool table for wet, rainy days and a large TV and DVD player (plenty of DVDs, books and CDs.) There was a plethora of toys, jigsaws and children's books to keep my seven year old son occupied, and even a remote control boat for the garden stream. Six pretty chickens roamed blithely outside the terrace (gated off), and supplied us with a daily glut of heavenly freshly laid eggs. Our Bedroom had an enormous bed which was very comfortable, and three pillows each. There was even a tea tray so you didn't need to wander far to make your early morning cuppa. The bathroom was white and fairly unremarkable; however, it was clean and warm with plenty of hot water and nice fluffy towels. The kitchen had every utensil you'd need to produce a slap up meal and was extremely user- friendly.
The owner's brilliant artwork bedecked all walls and we were invited to take a copy of one of his paintings home, which we did. We chose one of the 'campfire' because we had a campfire and barbecue whilst we were there. The fire was laid ready to light beside a colourful hammock and babbling stream. The woodland garden is amazing; even a summer house in which to meditate. I love the sculptures and garden swing.
Although this little pocket of paradise is hidden away, it is also very close to all major attractions and beaches of both Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. There are several supermarkets within a three mile radius, should you need them.
The owners are so obliging, they even offered to take their canoe down to the river so we could go canoeing - unbelievable!
I would wholly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a fantastic holiday!

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful surroundings. Exceedingly well equipped cottage with such welcoming touches. May have to get some chickens at home! Thank you for making our wedding anniversary perfect. Will be recommending to others. Even in the snow and ice we were toasty warm here.

“Amazing place and amazing hosts”
Reviewed 16 May 2015 for a stay in September 2014

My partner and I stayed there last year and had a brilliant time. Christine and David who live next door were amazing hosts leaving fresh fruit, butter, milk, wine and supplies for our arrival. The place in huge and the gardens are awesome. We fed and named the chickens, who left us fresh eggs each morning. Christine showed us around the gardens, which David had decorated with some lovely artwork. There was a camp fire, BBQ with charcoal, lamps and torches - everything you could possibly need. We were having such a wonderful time that we wanted to share the experience with another couple. Our hosts were more than happy to provide us with additional bedding so our guests could use the sofa bed. We had a truly wonderful time and will be visiting again soon.
