“Best B&B ever”

We went for one night and stayed for 3, Very clean, very pretty, good food and the nicest and most helpful people. We wanted to see what Wales was really like and they were so helpful with places to go , places to eat , Telling us about music, food and fun in Wales. The people all around the area were also very nice, especially when we said we were staying at Mick & Mels. We had a great time and recommend this to anyone with an eye for beauty.

We booked our stay last minute and for one night only. Having seen the photos on the website, we thought we were booking a large, open plan room with a double bed and lounge area.
What you actually get is a three room completely self contained and utterly charming little holiday home. The front doors leads into a reception vestibule with plenty of room for boots and coats.
A door to the right leads into a well appointed bedroom with storage and interestingly shaped walls, patio doors onto decking at the rear and a really well thought out ensuite shower room.
A door to the left takes you into a living area with fully equipped kitchen (and not cramped!), modern three seater settee with lounging seat, eating area, flat screen tv with DVD and surround sound, books, games, CD's and a selection of DVD's. There are also patio doors that lead onto the decking at rear, with furniture and deckchairs and a private garden.
We were greeted with obvious delight by our hostess Mel, who is enthusiastic and friendly and simply couldn't do enough to help us.
Mel also let us have a nosy round the main house, with it's two B & B rooms and some of Mel's art on the walls. The whole place was designed by Mel and her husband Mick and built for them 10 years ago. She even let us see her studio.
An absolutely wonderful place to stay (next time will be longer!), made even better by the owners.
Don't hesitate - book it!

We stayed at Cysgod y Coed on 06/08/11 as we were attending a friends wedding in Corwen. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel very at home. Our room was immaculately clean and well presented and all infomation about nearby activities, walks and amenities were all to hand. The breakfast was beautiful, cereals, fruit, toast and a cooked breakfast were all offered. The cooked breakfast was made from local produce and was lovely. The only regret is that we could not stay to enjoy the picturesque scenery and the hot tub in the garden! Would highly recommend!

Lovely warm welcome, gorgeous house and garden, immaculate room neutrally decorated with a lovely en suite. Advice offered for our trip up snowdon and an hour of uninterrupted recovery in the hot tub on our return. Perfect breakfast. Would recommend happily to anyone.

My husband booked this as a suprise weekend escape. From the moment you step inside Cysgod Coed you are made to feel extremely welcome. The house is beautiful and immaculately clean and tidy. Mel and Mick are wonderful hosts and make you feel very much at home. Our bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and plentiful. Lots of activities to see and do on the area. We will pass the B & B details to all our family and friends and highly recommend a visit.

Cysgod y Coed is absolutely stunning! Can't recommend it highly enough. We stayed in the cottage and it was perfect - spotlessly clean and has all the modern cons that you need. The private garden and outdoor hot tub are a real plus too - the hot tub is a must after days of exploring Snowdonia! Accommodation is in easy driving distance to major attractions. We would recommend - Bala White Water Rafting Centre, Coed Y Brenin for mountain biking and Go Ape, Adventure Mountain for Quad Trekking and an enjoyable sheep show, and Horse Riding at Snowdonia Stables.

Mel and Mick are wonderful hosts making us feel very welcome. We would love to come back here sometime - lots to see and do and accommodation is first class!
