Owner description: Our school offers high quality kitesurfing and windsurfing tuition with IKO certified instructors (International Kitesurfing Organization) with the latest and safest equipment. We are located in Nonsuch Bay, on the windward shore of Antigua, where the trade winds blow strong and constant. The bay is completely closed by the reef and offers a condition of warm and flat water, ideal to learn and progress. Updated equipment, newest teaching methods and power boat assistance make the best combination for your perfect learning experience.
The kitesurfing lessons will start from the beach of Green Island, a tiny island windward to Nonsuch bay, with white sand and crystal blue water; a perfect landing/launching area for kites.

I was on an extended holiday in Antigua and had about 10 lessons with 40Knots which meant that I went from never having touched a kite before in my life to being able to whizz along and even change direction! It really is the most exciting sport and the 40Knots team seemed to make it their personal mission to get me up and going. Nothing is too much trouble, lessons were allowed to run over time if the instructor didn't have another lesson straight away, there were so many laughs and high-fives that I lost count, and the team work SO hard to make sure you have the right kit and the best possible experience. All the kites are new so you are learning with all the latest innovations in kiting technology and all the instructors are in ribs so they can scoop you up whenever you need a helping hand. The setting is also literally paradise.
I can't recommend 40Knots highly enough. Everyone needs to get on down there and give kitesurfing a go. You will be safe and very well looked after and you will have such a good time!
I'm already looking forward to going back - Max, Irene, Chris, Susie and Kai - see you soooooon! Helena xxx

I booked lessons with 40 knots before leaving the UK, after reading the glowing reports on trip advisor. I am glad I did, as the school lived up to all my expectations. I have nothing but praise for the location, set up and friendly professional tuition.
I had had a few lessions in the UK learning in the chop and waves, which is great once you have reached a certain standard, but makes learning in the early stages more difficult. The beauity of Nonsuch Bay is the vast expance of flat water, due to the reef.
Learning from an inflatable was a revelation. Max and his team have developed a really effective method of instruction which enables the instructor to always be there when needed for advice and the inevitable untangling.
I will always remember my first long run across the bay. If you are visiting Antigua I can thoroughly recommend 40 Knots.
My thanks to Max, Kai and the team for a fantastic time.

My wife and I took kite surf lessons and had a great time. The instructors were very good and we had a lot of active water time during the lessons (2hrs per lesson). The group sizes were small which allows for a very focused training (max. 2 persons when we did our lessons). The location of the school is possibly the best you can get, at least in Antigua. Steady wind, warm water and a marvellous bay. All instructors and the management are very kind, always offering helpful tips and answering your questions. They are very quick in matching the training equipment to changing conditions. We both were bloody beginners and had some nice successes after the 3-lesson beginner package and we took two additional lessons before we left. The school is also selling quite some nice equipment at top prices.

We recently stayed at Green Island on board the private yacht on which we crew. Three of our guests and 2 crew got tuition from Irene. All 5 raved about how good a teacher Irene was. They all said she was extremely enthusiastic with excellent and concise instructions. I personally met Max and Chris on the beach who run the company and found them to be a really nice team.
This company is certainly worth booking some lessons with if you wish to learn or progress with your kitesurfing.

Had a great day, my instructor was amazing ( Suzy). Suzy really cared and showed an interest in making my experience the best it could be, she wanted me to get up on my feet more than me I think. Loved it and will be back for more in a few weeks when I pass back through
