i stayed here in febuary for 3 days with my 2 young children & i found we had a warm welcome on arrival. we were then taken to our room which was a great size for the 4 of us & having the kids in a seperate room off ours was fantastic!!
the hotels lounge & dinning room was very comfortable & we could just sit & enjoy the open log fire .
we found that the beaches around here were close by & beautiful even though it was abit cold the kids loved running around on them.

I stayed at Ivybridge in February 09 on my way to Ireland on business. I found the people there very friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was served hot!! I arrived very late but I received a welcome and was shown to my room. On asking if there was any chance of food, the chap rushed off and returned with a plate of freshly made sandwiches and a long cool beer.

On my return on arrival from the Stena ferry I was again greeted by a friendly face and asked if I required anything. This was at 1 o clock in the morning! Breakfast was served,
again piping hot and well cooked. Check out was organised, and I was made to feel like a welcome guest and nothing was too much trouble. I will use Ivybridge again, as I felt that this was a small place with a big welcome. Give them a try. I will just mention that Ivybridge is on the St Davids Road (A487) and not in St Davids itself.

We stayed n Pembrokeshire for three nights for a change of scenery, fancied a bit of nice Welsh countryside. I chose Ivybridge as they allow dogs, and are a very reasonable price. Our large en-suite room with one double and one large single bed was £69, that is for the room not per person so very good value for money in my opinion. Some people seem to expect to pay that then be staying at the Ritz with everything at your beck and call. As long as you acknowledge what a 3 star place is then you will be happy with the Ivybridge.
The room was clean, it had all the facilities you need for a short stay, although our room didn't have a fridge, which would have been nice. The bathroom as a good size and the shower was hot and easy to use. The decor is fine, nothing to write home about but I wouldn't say it was that dated, just a bit bland like most hotels. I found the bed really comfy and slept very well, which I don't always in hotels.
We found the food fine. They do stop serving quite early though, at half 7. We often find that problem in the countryside though, maybe we are just used to keeping London hours! The breakfast is good and you get a lot of choice.
I agree with the first reviewer, I don't understand the point in them having a separate bar and restaurant menu when you can only sit in one place to eat! There is a nice cosy section with sofas if you just want a drink from the bar though, and they had enough choice of drinks for us.
The hotel has a heated indoor swimming pool but we didn't use it. It looked OK though!
Overall I would recommend this hotel for people who don't want to waste too much money on accommodation, but still want to come back to a nice comfy bed and a quiet area after their day's walking the Pembrokeshire coast.

Arrived for one night on way back from holiday in Ireland. First impressions is that this place needs a facelift. We had three rooms all of which were dingy, claustrophobic and small and very stuffy. 1960s decor. We went down for a drink before having a bar meal. Not a proper bar - for instance no draught beer and the person serving had difficulty locating the driniks - for instance finding the sherry. We had to ask where to have the bar meal - we had thought it would be in a bar but there is not a bar - and so all meals are in the dining room whether you order from the bar menu or the more expensive dining menu which I would have thought would be annoying to those who had paid the dining room menu. The food was very average - my supposedly home made vegetarian lasagne was very sloppy - no whole vegetables and hardly any lasagne - and was cold within seconds as the plates had not been warmed. Breakfast average although those that had eggs said they were good. A disappointing end to a wonderful holiday.

We had a major refurbishment here to "Visit Wales" standard in 2007 and all our rooms were redecorated and are serviced daily. We have a wide range of beers lager and spirits available. True, it is not on draught, as we feel draught beers are not for us. our dining roomed refurbished December 08 is all open plan and includes bar and seating area, and always did. Our food is prepared using local produce and is always served on hot plates!!
Constructive critisism is welcome, but it would help everyone if guests would bring to our notice any problems that there may be. We always endeavour to please all of our guests in all of their requests.
