We have just spent the last 2 weeks with our two young children in one of the finest holiday homes I’ve ever stayed in in Ireland.

Ballymac village is 10 beautifully designed and decorated houses set on the most peaceful little part of Wexford. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and there are great facilities there for the kids, from a great little playground, a football pitch, tennis court, to pool tables and a table tennis room for the wet days.

The houses themselves are beautifully decorated and really comfortable. We went for the delux premium house which had 3 large bedrooms with really comfy beds and a large open living area with well equipped kitchen. It even had a really big utility room with washing machine and separate dryer.

They are bright and airy with large windows, but all with private gardens so you’re not overlooked by anyone. The sun trap to the side of the house was perfect for evening BBQ’s (gas BBQ and outdoor heater for the cooler evenings all supplied) and lazy breakfasts in the sunshine.
5 minutes from the nearest beach and shops, we spent 2 blissful weeks here. John Kirwan who owns the development was a pleasure to deal with, if there was any issue at all, he was up in a flash to sort it out. We plan on returning as soon as is humanly possible to these great value holiday homes which really are a little hidden gem on the sunny south east!

Just back from a week here the children had a great time. We had 3 houses rented between us (sisters) and all 3 were beside each other so was ideal for the children. Ther is some beautiful beaches near by morriscastle and Currocloe, great places to eat such as Sean Og, Katie's and lawlors at the beach for fish and chips. The houses themselves had a playground, pool room and tennis court. The standard is acceptable but not 4 or 5 star in my book. Also on last morning after asking owner what time we had to leave house 10am he came along at 9.30 when I was packing car in my pyjamas and asked would we be long and also asked for money for gas and electricity which he never asked for when I was booking or when we arrived. I felt a little intimated by this and felt it put a bit of a shadow on holiday. Wouldn't be back again it wouldn't take a huge amount to make it a 4 or 5 star holiday homes but all the small things add up and also customer service skills.

Our first time in the area and we really enjoyed our stay at this home. Very clean with all the amenities we would expect. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless with a good size bath. The house is one of a few in a quiet cul-de-sac but those with "wayward" dogs may be interested to learn that the garden isn't enclosed and the nearby main road can get quite busy. This main road leads to the nearby village of Kilmuckridge (about 2 miles.) Not recommended to walk as there are no paths and no lights. Only the fittest of people would want to climb the several long slopes on the way. The village has 3 pubs and all 3 are very friendly. Boggans has a big screen and shows all the main sports including Premier Football. All three sell excellent beer and make you feel very welcome. There are 2 reasonably priced supermarkets there as well. I couldn't find walks on the doorstep and found myself driving north to Wicklow for the hill walks. Maybe John, the owner, might consider collecting the free maps/leaflets and other material so the we could read the info instead of having to drive to Gorey to find a tourist info shop. All in all, I would recommend these cottages to anyone.
