We are from Finland and like to stay in proper old houses with atmosphere. That's what we got - nice surroudings, house with good atmosphere, good food. Very friendly owners, we felt use very welcome. A place to visit again!

My son has just return home on leave from a tour in a not very nice place and the first thing he asked was for a meal out with his dad (that's me). All the staff made him feel very welcome and the food was excellent. He loves the homemade burgers. Me myself i could live on the steak and ale pie.

What more can you ask from a village pub. My son leaves again for another tour in June I'm sure we will be back again before he goes. Excellent evening made to feel very welcome, pubs like these need to be saved from the money men and the sign of the times. Ask for Lisa or Bernie they will make you feel more than welcome.

We have returned from our second stay at this lovely country inn. Once again the room was comfortable , clean and cosy. Pretty view from the room of the countryside. Breakfast was great and fresh, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We ate in the bar one evening and the food was very tasty- once again good friendly service.
Hope to return again next visiting relatives.

We just got back from touring Wales, and stayed in the wheatsheaf inn on a 2x night package deal which was excellent value. The drive in towards the village was very scenic. The owners Lisa & Bernard were very welcoming & friendly. The room had a wonderful view, was clean and tidy and the en-suite was spotless, plenty of tea & coffe in the room aswell.
Both nights we had a superb 2 x course meal which was cooked from fresh locally sourced produce & was piping hot .....with a bottle of house wine.(excellent).The staff at the pub were friendly and helpfull especially Thursday nights quiz night great laugh ! Thanks Bernard & Lisa.
