Great hotel for relaxation, great staff and a place to spend your romantic weekend or just to charge your batteries. Spa, wellness, massage, pool, jacuzzi in the apartment..... Excellent staff, great variety of food, local cuisine, but prepared in a modern way. You can spend your whole vacation in the hotel relaxing, or go around the countryside sightseeing.... There are no words to describe our weekend you have to try it yourself.

Where to start? Seven months ago I found this hotel over the internet. It took me seven months to bring my wife here on weekend. Now after this weekend is finished I can freely say: „ Best weekend ever“. Firstly, when I send request over the email, I received express answer with lot of helpful information. I manage to organise, hour by hour our weekend with lot of details. Person on the other side of the line was imaginative and she understand my idea immediately how to spend perfect weekend. When we arrived in hotel, the pleasant receptionist Danijela welcomed us. She explained us all the details and escort us to our room. It is perfect room, with tub in living room, with separate bedroom and nicely bathroom. Room was well cleaned and prepared for our welcome. All meals in the restaurant where perfect, very imaginative with local specialities and great wine card. I have to say that all staff is very friendly and nice (as it should be in small boutique hotels). Just to say Leonida and Brankica were perfect while serving us both breakfast and dinners. They know very well all the meals served and wines on card. Wellnes is on the top of the hotel, and you have perfect view on landscape while you are having a bath in hot tub or you are enyoing reading on one of the sun beds. On this way I want to thank Ivana, on perfect massages she done to me and to my wife. Thanks all the staff which was very helpfull, imaginative, while perfectly decorating our room while we were on the dinner with flowers, candels, champagne and nice cake. All together, perfect place for perfect vacation. Definitely returning and hope to have another unforgettable weekend.

I stayed there with my better half for a couple of days in order to relax a bit and to avoid city hotels. I was curious about their chef as I 've heard a lot about this hotel's gastronomy. Must admit we got more then we bargained for. The accommodation is splendid;large, spacious rooms, with jacuzzi and all the other amenities required. The package included welcome cocktails, room service free of charge, chocolate tasting and massages for both of us. The food deserves a separate comment;the chef Mislav has proven himself to be a inovative, creative and above all willing to please the customer. He has made for us some additional asian dishes, not very complex, but has shown a good will. Given the fact that our package was comprising a half-board, I can safely state that this was the best hotel food I had in a long, long time. Normally, I do not have my meals in the hotels, but instead choose a reputable restaurants in the area. This time it wasn't necessary:-)...Overall, excellent experience, I am confirdent this establishment has got a bright future.

AMAZING FOOD (7 course dinner), spacious room with jacuzzi, nice staff... Nothing bad to say about this hotel. We had a great massage, bottle of wine and chocolates in the room, all included in special offer for Valentine's day.
I highly recommend.

Room Tip: Junior Suite - perfect for relaxation.

We stayed here for 3 nights. From the arrival to departure, we had the most amazing time. The staff did EVERYTHING and more to make our stay joyful and memorable.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment, which was furnished with great, modern style and had a jacuzzi in the living room! Of course, the water in the whole hotel was thermal water (they have their own pipe directly from the ground), and thus, the water for the jacuzzi was thermal. The master bedroom had a large double/king bed, and the second room, 2 single beds. They were very comfortable. Bathroom was modern, and had a great shower; rain shower with 8 jets. The living room had a nice table, sofa, kitchenette (even with a kettle, where, by being British, with a love of tea, was welcome, and not many countries have electric kettles!), and large flat screen TV. We also had a balcony with table, chairs and lounger.

Throughout the hotel, there were some great paintings, abstract/Jackson Pollock style. We mentioned that we loved them, and is there a place where we could purchase them. The artist a (?retired) Doctor at the hospital lived locally, and the hotel called him, we went to his house, and we comissioned him to paint us some paintings! The hotel arranged this all, and is indicative of their customer service. Nothing is too much for them, and they bent over backwards to make our stay fabulous.

We chose half board, which was brilliant value. Breakfast had many options, juices, cereals, cheese and cold cuts of ham etc, fruit, hot items and they make fresh omlets, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs to order. The villa Magdalena omlet was memorable, so yummy! With smoked ham and chestnuts. The dinner is 5 courses, and the food was the most innovative we have ever had. There is huge emphasis on local produce, and they bake their own bread, make their own cheese etc too. We really loved the pumpkin seed oil used in many of the dishes, so much so that we asked where we could purchase some to take home. Again, nothing is too much for them, and they rang the producer down the road, and next morning he deliverd right to the hotel! We have ate at many good restaurants around the world, and can safely say, the food here is as good as any of them, definitely haute cuisine. Everything was made with love and the chef, whom introduced himself that first evening clearly has huge passion for making great food. Also, anything you don't like, would like something different, or would like more of, they would cater for this, by making something different, or second helpings! All the food was freshly prepared, and the presentation was lovely.

Brankica, our waitress was excellent, efficient, extremely friendly, and a joy to see every evening. She also rang the oil producer, and helped arrange us to meet and go to the artist's house. Above and beyond.

Mariana was also brilliant, and helped with our contact, and translate between us and the artist.

Brankica and Mariana are a CREDIT to the hotel. ALL the staff we met were incredible.

Upstairs is the wellness centre, with a large jacuzzi with many jets that you can change the settings of, a sauna, and an infrared sauna. They also have some comfortable loungers.

There are a few 'Termes' in the area, all having various sized, and different temperature swimming pools, with bubble beds, jets, jacuzzis, and loungers. They also have separate areas (with additional charge) that include many different saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, and relax areas. The 2 we went to were Terme Jezercica and Terme Tuhelj. Both were great, howeved We preferred Terme Tuhelj. The sauna world at Tuhelj was incredible. Huge. Around 18 different saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, 4 relax areas/rooms including waterbeds, and loungers attached with ropes to the ceiling, kind of like a hammock, which rock, very relaxing. Very 'zen' like, quiet and great place to recharge your batteries. Depending on how many hours you want to go for, swimming at the pools can be anything from 4-8 euros and the sauna areas, 10-14 euros.

So in conclusion, Villa Magdelena, is an AMAZING hotel. Thanks to ALL the staff for making our stay absolutely brilliant!

Room Tip: We chose the 2 bed apartment which had ample room, very nicely furnished

Spent 3 days with wife here , and plan on coming back as long as I can drive :-) Superb private hotel , rooms are spacious and cozy , and having a large jacuzzi with thermal water in your room doesn't hurt either .SPA is small , but has 2 saunas and jacuzzi , and massages offered were performed well and reasonably priced . Everyone was very pleasant and helpful , from first e-mail exchange to departure , you could feel that all want to make your stay memorable . But ( and this is a good but ) , Chef Mislav is not from this world . I have traveled all over the world and he was first Chef to ask what do I don't eat ahead of the meal ...Every single dish was prepared with precision and taste , and I cant remember last time I have had 3 hour dinner and did not feel bored . That does not happen here . We cleaned all our plates spotless . Also , breakfast served in our room was superb and plentiful . View is pleasant , with hills and small valleys , and major shopping centers are near Zagreb , only 20 minutes away by car - WESTGATE and Roses in Zacretje . Not much to do around Villa itself , but with service and accommodation like this , we didn't feel the need . Definitely recommending for couples or just singles who like good food . Vine list was sufficient , and prices for drinks and meals were another surprise , being more than reasonable . Go , enjoy , relax
