We've just come back from a week staying in a Yelloh! two bed 7 isles cottage at Le Ranolien. We'd seen this site many times in the past having stayed in Brittany frequently over the last 15 years and decided to give it a go as a treat to the children wanting a site with swimming pools. On arrival our accommodation was ready early which was a bonus and was immaculate inside. We had requested accommodation in a quiet area of the site and ours was in a cul-de-sac right next to a perimeter fence. At first glance it seemed like there was nowhere for all our clobber but there were cupboards tucked away and loads in the bathroom! The twin room could have slept three as it had a fold down top bunk and was a good size. The double room was however TINY which I suppose was the only drawback as it was difficult to negotiate around the bed to get in or out! However you only stub your toes a couple of times before realising where you can or can't walk! The swimming pools were excellent and my kids (11 and 7) used them every day sometimes twice a day. Although it was high summer, I never felt it was overcrowded and we always found a sun lounger or chair no matter the time of day. It was safe for the kids to swim on their own with us just onlooking and they loved it. On site, the little supermarket was useful but there's a large Super U two mins down the road at Tregastel. The entertainment was varied in the evenings and we listened to some live music a couple of times. There were kids clubs and more entertainment if we had wanted to. Lovely walks along the customs path either towards Ploumanc'h (amazing rock formations here) or Trestrarou (fab sandy beach here). My husband used the gym a few times during our stay and you could have taken part in aqua aerobics or step aerobics.
We love this area of Britanny and will no doubt be back to this site sometime in the future.
