Judging from the people we met here, we think this hotel is primarily used as an expressway stop-over. Most of the guests were British or German travelers on their ways to other places. We were here for a one night stay in Reims to re-visit the cathedral, before traveling to our airport hotel in Paris by way of Laon. Our interactions with the front desk staff were very pleasant. Their English skills were very good.
If you've visited an Ibis, then you know exactly what to expect -- a clean comfortable, no-frills room. That's all we needed and we were very happy with it. We especially liked their full service restaurant. It was Sunday night and we had no appetite for walking up and down the streets of Reims with "hungry eyes" trying to find an open, acceptable restaurant. We took advantage of the convenience of the on site restaurant. The food was good and the service was too.
In summary, we had no complaints. This and one other Ibis on this trip were our first experiences with this hotel chain. We've been avoiding them in favor of the small, local hotels featured in the guidebooks. But these two stays have convinced us to give Ibis a second look whenever we're planning a trip back to France.More
