Absolutely fascinating and thoroughly entertaining. The welcome in English by the young lady at the door was much appreciated. Most of the models are in working order but the older and more delicate have been filmed and appear alongside on a screen to show how they work. A well thought out and unusual museum. It is good that these things are preserved and not hidden away in some-ones attic.

We stumbled across this from a brochure in our B&B, and it wasn't high on the agenda, until we got to Souillac itself. I personally love it when someone makes such a big effort to preserve pieces such as these. The displays are all easy to see, and understand and they have a brochure in English, as well as the receptionist giving you a short run down on the museum before you enter. Some of the exhibits work perfectly, others are not animated as they are very old and run on clockwork, so there are videos of them working to show you what they do. If you have a couple of hours to spare, it's well worth it. Especially to show the children what kind of toys they may have played with a hundred years ago.....

Fascinating exhibition. Takes one back to a time when automatons were very much part of life where entertainment was concerned.

An absolute must for anyone visiting Souillac. It's inexpensive and well worth spending a little time. The effort that has gone into making these charming and amusing automatons is incredible! Very kind and helpful staff - a delightful experience and a well curated museum. Some people might appreciate explanations in English?
