Spectacular three domed roof which I am led to believe is one of only three still in existence from this period.Difficult to imagine how this could have been constructed without modern day.tools.

Free to visit, with parking just outside most days (don't attempt it on market day though!).
Just inside the nave is a stand with brochures in different languages - these are free (contributions gratefully accepted) and give an excellent description in good English. The carvings by the main door are splendid. Overall, the architecture, with its domes in the roof, is very inspiring, and overcomes the Victorian era religious effects dotted around. It makes one wonder what Souillac was like in its prime, before the religious and secular wars destroyed so much.

Beautiful, strong and with many stories to tell we were impressed with this Abbey since it clearly possesses a long history and great antiquity that we resolved to explore more deeply while continuing to serve the community. Byzantine?
