“Would definitely stay again!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

We were attending one of the many weddings in Souillac last weekend and stayed at this B&B for 3 nights. The bedroom and bathroom were large and spotlessly clean. We were also provided with a fan so we didn't have to sleep with the windows open and be woken by the traffic! Cars do seem to like to screech their tyres around the roundabout!! Sadly we didn't have time to make use of the pool but it looked like a lovely place to relax on a hot day! Fabienne was an excellent hostess - she assisted us by booking taxis on several occasions and on the occasion where they were all booked up and it looked like we would be late to the wedding, she drove us herself! Including picking up our two friends from a different hotel in the town! To me, that really is (literally) going the extra mile! Our friends were staying the the Hotel du Promenade and having seen their room, I can honestly say that Hotel du Puy D'Alon is much nicer with much more personal service. We would definitely return to this B&B if we ever came back to Souillac.

Room Tip: Room 11 was large and overlooked the pool.

we stayed here as a couple in june 2014.I had a particular problem sourcing tyres for my Porsche which had suffered a blow out on the autoroute.Fabienne could not have been more helpful even making long phone calls for which she refused payment! Aside from this the hotel was excellent with great breakfasts. We were sorry to leave but will certainly return.

Looked at from the outside, with a location on a busy roundabout, you might have reservations about this place. However, Fabienne is just wonderfully helpful. We were checking local properties to buy and were very pleased to extend our stay. The ensuite room (at the back, away from the traffic noise) was charming and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were good - perhaps a bit expensive, but top-ups were no problem and the food was excellent. Fabienne is extremely helpful about local restaurants and attractions. There was a little incident whilst we were staying - a dear French lady tripped on a step, fell over and cut herself, and we were able to assist (we had gone to bed and so dressed again) - and Fabienne gave us a pot of foie gras in the morning as a thank-you!
If you want a warm, friendly reception, then this really must be the best in the area. Nothing was too much trouble. I just don't know where she gets her energy from! The only sad thing is that she doesn't have a restaurant - my partner has bought a place in the next door village of Le Roc and I'd love to go back regularly for meals!

Room Tip: Best to get one at the back - but Fabienne will suggest a good room anyway. Probably the higher up t...

On a drive through France to Spain I was looking for an overnight stop in the area around Limoges and caught some of the very good reviews this hotel had. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. The hotel is clean and comfortable and very 'traditionally French'. As other reviewers have attested, Fabienne is a charming host and seems to do everything herself. She was kind enough to book us a table at a local restaurant called Le Beffroi which is about a 12 minute walk away. Not cheap but actually good value as the food was superb.

I cannot recommend either the hotel or the restaurant too highly.

Souillac was a real discovery for us. We were stopping off there for a few days in between stays in the Loire and Pyrenees, as it's so close to the main autoroute. This hotel is great, slightly out of the town centre, but only an easy 10-15 minute walk from the main squares & restaurants. It's also very near a big LeClerc hypermarket & cheap petrol station.

Best of all, though, is the welcome and service provided by Fabienne, the owner. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, she speaks great English, the breakfasts in the hotel are excellent, and she offered loads of great tips for sightseeing & places to eat. The icing on the cake for this is the lovely swimming pool and garden - which is a great bonus to relax and cool off on a hot day.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a reasonably busy roundabout that does seem to attract lorries and motorbikes! If yo...

We stayed here for three nights on our way down to continue or holidaying in the Pyrenees. The owner, Fabienne is such an attentive hostess. She was very helpful in suggesting things to do and places to eat.

The room itself was very comfortable if a little small but that is fairly normal for a family room. We all had a full size bed and the ensure facilities were lovely and clean. Room was nicely made up each day.

Breakfast was great and plentiful. The children both under 12 were charged at a reduced rate for their breakfast which we had not expected.

We all enjoyed the beautiful little garden and the swimming pool.

The one downside was that due to the very hot weather in July, we slept with the windows open and so were woken by morning traffic a little earlier than we might have liked. The hotel is right on the road by a roundabout so traffic noise should be expected. Our room faced the front. Rooms facing to the back might be quieter. At other times of the year, with windows shut this may not be a problem at all.

Souillac is a great little stop off on the way down south. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper opt for a room facing the back over looking the beautiful garden.

Fabienne really makes you feel welcome from start to finish and is very helpful with anything you need, including putting picnic stuff in the fridge, loaning a sharp knife, directions, etc. The room was lovely with lots of space and a large wardrobe. The view was gorgeous - over the pool and beyond to the mountains. It's on a fairly busy road but with the windows shut there's no noise and there are shutters as well. Very comfortable bed and lovely clean bathroom with shower. The breakfast was good with choice of cereal, croissants & baguette (of course), cheese, ham and lots of coffee in a really lovely breakfast room overlooking the pool. Free outside parking opposite the hotel was perfect too as it's walking distance to the centre of the town.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the back garden/pool.
