“Very good room, comfortable sleep”
Reviewed 25 April 2012

This was the best hotel of our trip from Dieppe to Le Havre. Comfortable bed, large tv.
Only - point: elevator really small and windows not clean from outside.
But if that is all, who cares. Nice view of the sea and beach.

Please be careful when dealing with this hotel. I had previously made a reservation with them through an online facility, not Tripadvisor, and called the hotel concerning our requirements which the hotel were unable to meet. When I explained I would need to therefore cancel the reservation, the member of staff assured me this would be done despite booking online. I therefore requested written confirmation.
I did not receive the confirmation and have now been charged a full 100% "no show" fee.
I contacted the hotel and they have not reversed their decision.
I would have used this hotel in the future, however, after this experience, would not do so and neither would I recommend them to other people travelling to Dieppe.

We travelled as foot passengers on July 13th on Newhaven Dieppe ferry. We were fortunate to meet a very helpful Roger from Eastbourne. He walked with us to the hotel and told us about Dieppe. He also helped four other travellers en route.
The entrance does need a make over but we did not intend to sit on the steps. Receptionist was very pleasant and told us we could leave luggage on our last day in their cupboard.
Our room overlooked the swimming pool on the prom and we had good views. Shame that the seagull splatterings ( putting it politely) spoilt it. Our beds were very comfortable with good bedding. The bathroom was new with a bath and an excellent shower. There was also a hairdryer which worked well. Each day the shower gel, shampoo and soap was renewed. The television on the wall gave a good picture and we managed to find some programmes which we understood.
The breakfast was 10 euros extra and I was dispappointed that the coffee seemed liked the instant brand and the water for tea was not as hot as the Brits expect for their tea. There was fruit juice which had not been watered down, unlike some places, and the usual bread, jams, butter, croissants, cake, pieces of cheese and sliced salami type meat. We decided not to have breakfast the next day which was a mistake because by the time you have bought a little coffee and a glass of juice you wil have spent quite a bit. We found coffees and snacks expensive compared with the places we go to in Wales.
The drawback of this hotel was the absence of a residents lounge. The room was only open on the night of the Beatles tribute band. Yes, they had been in Llandudno a couple of weeks before but not sure if they were charging the equivalent of 30 euros there.
On the day we left, there was torrential rain. Reception were very helpful and tried to find us a taxi back to the port but none to be had. Thank goodness we were able to walk although not wearing Peter Storm macs we were absolutely drenched, including stuff in our luggage. No matter, we changed and had a pleasant journey back.
Foot passengers, our age can travel for just £24 return. Most bus journeys in France within the locality are only 2 euros and the train day return to Rouen was 44 euros for both. Cheaper transport costs offset the pricey coffees.
Generally, I was disappointed with the restaurants, mainly because of the prices and the mountains of chips everyone seemed to be having. After a couple of "Le rip-offs" we were lucky to find on the last day a good place, Bordeaux cafe, which restored my faith that reasonable home cooked food could be found. I will write up that review. So after much "mithering" as we say up North, I got to go over to France. Been there, seen it, done it, but, not got the T shirt. Their clothes prices are more expensive yhan the Matalans and Primarks.
