me and my mum had an amazing stay at Les Frenes in October 2015,
the staff was truly wonderful, they were always happy to help us, patient and smiling, and gave us a lot guidance for sightseeing, local markets, wines, etc, which we followed with great pleasure and amazing memories to come back to!

The hotel itself its truly lovely, well maintained, and has stunning garden with a very big pool, so everyone can have a good time, and there even is a good section of shallow water for kids. The rooms are very nice and comfy, and we were lucky to get an upgrade to a lovely large room :) We LOVED it and will definitely be back again! Perfect spot to get logged, and do day trips around Avignon, and nearby PROVENCE for visiting. TOP quality, and with the most amazing breakfast served!!

Each mooring we were waken up by the delicious smell of freshly made croissants and pastries, and could't wait to go down to the beautiful dinning room to taste it. The food selection is really top, and the hotel chef does fabulous homemade jams and confits, which we were most happy not only to taste, but were even given a take-away home treat for our family members!!!! Really not many places can top it :)

We had evening meal once at the hotel, but were not so keen on the dinner served, and found it slightly overpriced, but this is really the only thing to say and that;s to say if we Must find something to "improve on" , else, the entire stay was PERFECT and we felt like home, and well cared for.

Definitely worth recommending :) Thank you to all staff for your amazing hospitality.

I needed another night in the Avignon area and settled on this lovely jewel of a hotel. The accommodations were luxurious and very old world. Crown molding and Fleur d'lys everywhere with an extraordinary modern bathroom. Room included a sitting room and there were two flat screen TVs and a wonderfully comfortable bed. Plenty of hotel parking and there is room service and a hotel restaurant. Price was reasonable for experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Les Frenes. We found the hotel staff to be gracious and helpful, and found the hotel to be beautiful. We were traveling with friends and found Rooms 7 and 8 to both be lovely. Room size was quite large by French standards, and the bathrooms were particularly nice. We had the same experience as others--the air conditioning was not very robust, but the large windows cooled the room well for our September stay--not sure it would have been the same in July! We also had a beyond-slow experience at the hotel for dinner. We were one of only two tables on a Thursday night, so perhaps others are staying away. That said, the food was quite good and we found the prices to be in line with other nice restaurants. It was an easy drive to the city center, and we loved being a bit away from the bustle of the city. If you're looking for quite elegance during your stay, we'd most definitely recommend this hotel.

Room tip: Rooms 7 and 8 are large with nice bathrooms and big beds.

Les Frenes is a very pleasant property approximately 10 minutes from the heart of Avignon in an upscale village on the outskirts of the city. The property comprises a central house dating from the early 19th century and a number of outbuildings surrounding a large yard with a large pool and spa. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our superior room with balcony was immaculate and pleasantly furnished with a modern bathroom with large tub. My only major negative about our two night stay concerned the air conditioning that barely worked during two days of a major heat wave. If we had not brought a fan with us in our car, we would not have been able to sleep due to the barely wheezing air conditioner. We also felt that the cost of the breakfast buffet was rather steep at 20 euros per person...just ordering a coffee and croissant cost 11 euros so we decided to decamp to a local cafe in the village at more than half the price. On the plus side, the pool is large enough to comfortably do laps and the pool temperature was ideal for a hot summer day. Another plus was the ready availability of a secure parking space on the property which is something you normally would not have if you were staying in the old town of Avignon. On the whole, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

Room tip: Room 11 had a lovely private balcony overlooking the garden.

We were referred to this hotel by a friend who had stayed there a few years ago. This hotel did not disappoint. Although it is not downtown, it had a very peaceful location in the suburbs. The employees were very friendly and although their English was limited, they made the visit all we had expected. Great food in the dining room, wonderful rooms. I would stay there again when in the area.
