“Beautiful property, great choice when traveling through MRS airport”

New, very clean rooms; excellent property. Helpful staff and excellent breakfast choices. Beautiful pool-- great place to stay if you are arriving/departing from Marseille airport. Free shuttle is available via free phone in arrivals area of MRS airport. Only drawback is lack of food options at/near hotel for meals other than included breakfast buffet. Options are limited to a few pre-prepared and vending machine options. No restaurants available within easy walking distance. Lack of a fitness center was disappointing, but normal for HI EX properties.

6 of us in 3 rooms stayed for five nights. One room was upgraded to a suite as we are Platinum customers. All rooms were clean, new and modern with air conditioning and gorgeous comfy king size beds. The outdoor pool is nice but not heated as advertised. The brekkie is standard Express food and was ok. The location meant we hired a car and the staff were very helpful in providing advice/directions. Marseille is beautiful, amazing holiday.

Basic hotel but very clean and comfortable. I was upgraded to a suite as I was an IHG member and because the standard room I had booked was not immediately available. Breakfast was good and the quality of sleep excellent.

We booked this hotel after a cruise ended in Marseilles and we needed a convenient airport location for an early morning flight the next day. It was located close to the train station and it was an easy walk to catch the train into Marseilles - St. Charles to do some sight seeing. It was very clean and the rooms well appointed. The hotel offers free wi-fi service, which was refreshing after a two week cruise with very expensive wi-fi charges! Typical of the chain, breakfast was available and there was also a bar. There were some panini and salad vending machines, as there was no restaurant on the property as is typical of Holiday Inn Express. Their airport shuttle runs pretty consistently and is a very short distance to the airport.

Clean, relatively comfortable room with good climate control. Good beds. Our good experience ends there. While they have a decent breakfast buffet and sandwiches available throughout the day, there is no restaurant on site and absolutely nothing within walking distance.

When we asked at the desk about a restaurant recommendation and perhaps getting a cab, they said the only option is to take their shuttle back to the airport and eat there! Really? With resignation we hopped in their shuttle. When we explained the reason for the trip to the airport to the driver, he rolled his eyes and promptly took us to the Best Western hotel. While not in walking distance, it is reasonably close and has a very nice restaurant, as well as a much more helpful staff.

My advice - stay at the Best Western.

We booked two rooms here on May 16th and it was a marvelous place to stay. We all had early flights the next morning and there was a free shuttle to the airport. We also were able to use the free shuttle to get back to the hotel after we returned our rental car to the airport the night before our flights. As an aside the shuttle bus driver was great - told us his philosophy for being happy in life - a memorable human being. We really liked him. Breakfast was included. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, all spotlessly clean, very modern looking. The heated swimming pool was very refreshing - clean with large fluffy beach towels. Our stay was short but it was great value with a convenient location. Would recommend highly!

Right next to the Marseilles airport, this hotel was wonderful. It seems brand new - clean and well-appointed. Breakfast (included) was not the typical limited continental fare you get in Europe, but included bacon and scrambled eggs, great coffee, fresh bakery goods, healthy cereals, yogurt and many more self-serve choices. Other than breakfast, they did not serve other meals, but had a bar in the lobby and snacks available from vending machines - they did recommend two excellent nearby restaurants for our dinners. My wife says the hair dryer is the best she's ever used. The staff is polite and has been helpful with every request. And although I was trying my best to use my limited French, it only took a few words before they asked if I preferred English - probably my pronunciation hurt their ears!

Room Tip: On the higher floors you don't need to close the drapes, so can wake to the wonderful southern F...
