A sweet property while you see all reviews and pictures everywhere. We have chosen it due to its charm pictures everywhere and it's perfect location 50 yards from Avoriaz Telepherique, in psite of being quite expensive, average 100 euro/night/person in a room with sunny balcony, no extras included. Breakfaast was on top 14 euros/day, quite average, very french:croissant, gems, boiled eggs (some days), ham (some days only), cheese (some other days only). Beware of taking any sandwich from breakfast on the slopes, there is a person watching you and the sandwich will be charged 5 euro to your bill. The demi-pension is an option of 56 Euros/day (includes breakfast and dinner), is a good option for those 100% ski oriented, as it's an easy way to handle your ski-vacation, everything being on site and not too many options in the area (only another one-two restaurants and one pizzeria). The unnaceptable thing with the demi-pension is that once you booked it, you can not "escape" it! I do not know any laws (legal or simply self-understood) that could force you into such an agreement that you can not drop for any reason. What if you are ill, or you have friends to join for dinner in another place, or if you do not like the food? You are bound to pay in full the whole period of time, regardless you eat or not! Seemingly this is illegal I believe. The rooms are small but nice, the bathroom and toilet are small but functional, the towels are lousy/old/dirty appearance and the bedsheets were not changed at all during 7 nights sleep. The Sauna is great, opened between 16:00-19:00, as well as the hydrotherapy jacuzzi. There is wireless internet, against 3 euros/hour. But if you really want free wireless, you simply cross the road to Les Prodains Restaurant or across the road to Pizzeria Le Cable, you buy a beer and enjoy hours of free internet. Elodie is your host everyday a great person, kind and always welcoming guests. The seating facilities in the lobby are great, a small bar is welcoming in the entrance and a chemney is burning your evenings creating a cosy atmosphere. The sunny outdoor terrace is enjoyable for a nice lunch in the sun, with an outdoor grill.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony are sunny and larger.

The hotel is charming and clean. Personnel is kind and helpful.
Restaurant is good with variety of daily menu (did not try a la carte but the half board offer was great)
Rooms and bathrooms are small but nicely decorated and functional.
Location is very convenient for access to avoriaz ski area.
I recommend it for families, i went there alone with my children and found it the perfect balance beween comfort, price, easiness of logistics.

stayed with two friends for 3 nights pre Christmas.
We were very lucky with great powder skiing for every day so always gives good memories but this hotel suited our needs. It is 50 yards from the main cable car into Avoriaz.
We booked half board, it was really good value and the food was really well done. With any fixed menu there is going to be the odd course you don't like but overall really good.

We had the better rooms which were perfectly fine and probably a bit bigger than other ski resort hotels. Staff mostly friendly and their English was a lot better than my French!

The only downside is that this area is really quiet, so if you want more than a quiet beer in this bar, it's a wait for the bus for a 10 min drive into Morzine where the choice of bars is plentiful.

Seemed to cater well for children as well.

There is a ski shop over the road from the hotel that is friendly and cheap ish but the range of kit is more intermediate than expert/ latest models.

A great base for a ski trip and would stay there again if we did the same sort of trip again.

It's the first time I've looked at the reviews for that charming and friendly hotel and I'm surprised to see that some people have just slagged it off. I didn't know what to expect when I booked my family holiday there but when I left I knew we all wanted to come back. I think charming is the best word to describe it. The hotel is nicely decorated and the food is of good quality, it's quiet and peaceful and when you take time to get to know the team you find how much they want to please their customers. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a peaceful and relaxing place to stay near Avoriaz.

The Hotel Neige Roc is a little gem and is perfect for those looking for quiet ski holiday.
For skiing, it's location is perfect. It is located 2 minutes by foot from the Prodains cable car (where you buy the skipass) and from one of the chairlifts. Across the street is a shop renting equipment so you can sort out all the logistics in a very short time when you arrive.
In addition to it's excellent location for skiers, the hotel's restaurant serves amazing dinners that we really looked forward to every day. If French cooking is not your style, you can always let the management know and you can get served something else.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful throughout. The only thing missing in my case was free wi-fi, but a cafe down the street had it so it was not so bad.
Note that the hotel is located outside Morzine and below Avoriaz so if apres-ski activities are important you will need to drive to Morzine (about 5-10 minutes away by car) or ride the cable car up to Avoriaz.

All in all highly recommended. We have stayed here twice and look forward to returning next year!

This a very clean and nice looking hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but very warm, the bathrooms could use a renovation, and the breakfast could be better (even though it's not bad either). The staff can pass as being rude, but I guess it's just the way French people express themselves...

the hotel is located literaly 30 metres from the cable car that gets you to the slopes... Its really the closest you can get to Avoriaz, without paying to live there... (Neige et Roc is in Les Prodain, which is the last village before Avoriaz. But livin 30 metres from the cable car, is like living in Avoriaz)

The Wi-Fi is a rip off, costing 20 euros per 6 hours of usage. And its range is up to the first floor. Second floor means you are be disconnected every other minute. But then again, if you are there, why would you spend time on a computer??

This was a very friendly run family hotel at a perfect location if you just wanted to use it as a base. The hotel is situated right under the Super Morzine lift, with the ski shop directly opposite. If the lift was extra busy some mornings you could pop over the road to the chairlift for some great warm up runs which bring you back to the hotel. Being here we did not feel the need to use the Les Gets side, so keep this in mind when buying your ski pass!

Lets just say if you wanted to be in the thick of things for apres drinks then this is not the place. However, it does have a nice comfy bar and a games room in the basement. Its not a lively hotel, so if you wanted to chill out and relax after a day on the slopes this is the place for you. Within the hotel you had use of a sauna, spa and pool (however we did not use these).

The hotel is on a half board basis, the breakfast is plentiful, with cold and hot choices. The evening meal was very filling, however sometimes too rich and too much. It made a nice change though from treking around the resort looking for dinner in the cold.

The basic room was large enough for 2 adults, but the bathroom needed some updating and for the cost of this hotel, it just did not stack up. It seems as though the prices are at the top end of the scale, but the state of the facilities are not.

I'm writing this review due to the £-€ exchange rate. I began searching for other hotels in Morzine for 2009, as for the price of a premium room at €145 per night per person, this just could not be justified.

  • Liked — Location for slopes & quality of food.
  • Disliked — Away from the resort, price just didn't stack up.
