“Don't even go there!!!!”
Reviewed 7 February 2010

This trip was a disaster from start to finish. Alpine Elements were useless from booking to returning home, fortunately for us the resort was great and we only went for a short break. The chalet was awful, you could stay in a better hostel for a lot less money. It was dirty, sorry filthy!! The food was on a couple of occasions, palatable. That was when we got it. Staff were jolly but useless, when they were actually there. Other guests, snow and the town made it a heck of a lot more bearable. There is no way I would ever book with this company again and have written a formal letter of complaint, although I'm not holding my breath that I will even get a response, knowing how useless the company has been so far.
DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

I know not how to express/articulate how bad this hotel was. The hotel is an old shop converted, not very well. The food and wine unpalatable. General hygiene, there wasn't any. Service: on arrival most of the staff were sitting in the shop front, otherwise known as the lounge, with hangovers. When we asked how we could get our ski equipment they told us to walk in to town and we'd work it out. When we complained about the general hygiene of the place one particular chalet host got quiet testy. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT Travel using this company, unless you want a backpacking skiing holiday.

However Morzine is highly recommended, plenty to do, skiing area small but this is compared to skiing in the 3 valleys for so many years.

Just thought I should give a little advice if you're thinking of booking a trip with Alpine Elements. We've just got back from a nice week in Morzine (August) staying in Chalet Papy which is "run by" Alpine Elements.
First off I have to say what a fantastic cook we had there - Emily cooked up a storm in the kitchen and genuinely made some lovely food, and i couldnt have asked for more in that essence.
The Challet itself was basic and in a pretty shoddy state of disrepair with door handles hanging off and window shutters that didnt actually shut. Now this might have been down to the fact that its nearly end of season but still some of this stuff was so basic - Emily didnt even have a working dish washer the poor girl! The Sauna was nice though.
Unfortunately I googled Alpine Elements after i'd booked the holiday - bad idea - most of the feedback is pretty negative so i was a little worried but what can you do ehy? Well complaining seems to be the key - when I amade my booking, the initially inclusive free mountain bikes and lift passes, had "ran out" but one of the other families in our Chalet managed to complain their way to getting a bike each (4 people) for 3 days - funny how they just found some wasnt it!
Its been said before on a couple of other threads on here that the sales people in the UK seem to over promise just to get the sale. In summary - you get what you pay for really so if you've already booked and got a good deal then check what you're supposed to be getting in writing before you go as the rep "had no power whatsoever" to do anything really. Oh and take plenty of things to keep you amused if your planning on spending some time in the challet (Cards, DVD's) as the only entertainment is scrabble!
