“A great ski & snowboard trip for 32”
Reviewed 5 February 2014

We had a large self catered booking for 32, taking advantage of both of the extra apartments downstairs. Chalet Andu was well equipped to deal with such a big group - with the beer tap, hot tub & sauna all in constant use. A few even braved dips in the unheated (and pretty icy) swimming pool. Every room was en suite, perfectly clean, and a good size - the living rooms in all the apartments were really nicely arranged, and we had a fantastic trip.
Essert Romand is a short bus trip from the lifts in Morzine, but its not really walkable - this might have been a bit difficult due to the size of our group, but Reece & Harriet were amazingly flexible and helpful with all our requirements. One word of advice though - if you're collecting takeaway from Morzine - check your order before you get a lift back!!
A big thankyou to Nick, Reece & Harriet for making our week in the snow a great success.

We stay in chalet andu from the 4/1/14 to the 11/1/14, the chalet was clean, tidy and well maintained , all that you required was there and it all worked. This was a very enjoyable trip the whole family, 2 adults 3 kids aged from 13 to 9.
The trip was made most memorable by the chef Ollie (morzinechef.
The food was fabulous ,breakfast, après ski and dinner were always to be looked forward to . We really can't say enough about Ollie , his cooking was great as well as his conversation all in all he would be the main reason we would go back and recommend the chalet.

We had a fantastic week staying at the grand apartment in chalet andu. Location is a small village 10 min drive outside morzine so in summer car is advisable.
The apartment is spacious and homely. Kitchen is small but fine for making family meals. The hot fun and pool were a big hit for our family. Tho pool not heated it did not bother our kids who spent ages jumping in and out. Hot tub was lovely-all of us spent lots of time relaxing in it. The owners live on site and we found nick to be friendly and a wealth of helpful info about the area. The multi pass on offer in morzine is brilliant value, we used the lifts lots doing both short and long walk walks, also the mini golf and tennis were a hit! Other great highlights in area were swimming in lake montriond and in lake geneva by evian. Would so recommend an alpine summer holiday to a family wanting lots of outdoor activities. We also fitted in a high ropes course, 2 luge tracks and pony riding. We hope to include mountain biking which is so very popular too in a future visit.
It was also lovely after a day of outdoor activities to relax in hot tub and then have a choice of loads of English tv channels.

We rented the main chalet for 7 days and had an A+ vacation experience! One person planned for 20 of us - and a dog. We arrived from 4 different countries and had a top notch week. The Aussie hosts took great care of us, and Nick the owner was also there to help & share his gourmet cooking skills. Nick also offers a ski tour, which is not for the novices in the group! It was great to see his local spots, less full parking lots, tips & tricks on the slopes as well as lunchtime eateries.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the catered option, our 3+ course meals were outstanding. Kids were fed at 5:30, adults at 8. Apres Ski included soups or cakes & mulled wine - vin chaud - which went perfectly with hot-tub & heated pool time! Our meals were different every night and always outstanding. The wine & soft drinks flowed & the never ending cheese tray was enjoyed by the fireplace at the end of the evening.

Breakfast varied but eggs & bacon were always an option. The mini-bus to the slopes was planned for 2 trips per day, and the ski hire room outfitted 20 of us - some great new equipment finds, some older but useful items.

All the rooms were well kept, and had en suites and good luggage storage. My only complaint would be the towels - one towel a person for the whole week - pool, sauna, hot tub & showers. When I asked to trade mine in, I was told there were none left in the chalet & that I should be drying mine in the sauna. Either offer indoor & outdoor towels or change them out midweek!

Room Tip: Room #8 only has saloon doors to the bathroom, but has a wonderful wall of mirrors & closets.

Chalet Andu is a clean, welcoming, and well run chalet.
Even though we arrived 4 hrs early(!!!) we were able to have a cup of tea/coffee while the rooms were finished.
We had booked the main chalet, and the grand apartment, so had the place to ourselves.
Nick, the owner, was very easy to get on with, and offered to supply biere on tap at a very reasonable cost. We managed to get through 2 kegs, thanks!!
All the bedrooms in the main chalet were en suite, spotless, and spacious. The kitchen was clean, with enough plates, pans, dishes, cutlery, etc, for an army! The dining area and lounge were roomy, with the small bar off it.
The location; quiet and peaceful, but close enough to walk to the the local bar/restaurant
Amenities: Excellent all round. The hot tub, in particular, was THE place to relax, after a day's skiing ( or not! ) and proved very popular.
We had transport provided to and from the ski slopes. Helen and Matt, the drivers, were friendly and helpful. Helen took some of our non skiers to Chamonix for the day
All in all, a great place to stay, even if you are not skiing.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice.
