We wanted a memorable, relaxed lunch to mark the end of our holiday and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service from our waitress was exceptionally good. We were a family of five including a baby. There were other families and also couples. It was a great atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Loved the food here and sat in the glass conservatory which was nice.

It does take a while to get served but our waitress was super nice and gave us free Leminchello after our meal.

Would definitely go back.

We had our Christmas Day dinner here and it was amazing . Great cocktails to start supper menu and service. And not at all expensive for the quality. Tried to book for last night of our holiday but fully booked, so make sure you book two three days in advance

28 of our group became ill after eating here. We pinned it down to here because people ate there on different days with the result next day of vomiting and diarrhoea. 1 person needing hospital treatment which confirmed food poisoning. Have informed French authorities. 23/08/2022

Good Afternoon Mrs,

We read with surprise and dismay your comment following your dinner on Sunday August 21 at the Rotonde.

The symptoms you describe are very serious, and remind us of those that led to the closure of the Morzine swimming pool in recent days. Indeed, a bacterium was rampant in the water of the municipal swimming pool of Morzine and caused serious cases of diarrhea, dysentery, dehydration... well, almost what you relate in your message.

In addition, "simple" food poisoning, i.e. which can be caught by consuming a product whose freshness leaves something to be desired, cannot be traced in a blood test 3 or 4 days later, let alone leave such severe symptoms almost a week after.

In fact, we served 400 people that day. This number is also the average number of people that we have been served every day since the beginning of the summer season, as for more than 10 years.

- No one other than you and another person from your table told us they were sick that day. Which should have been the case, especially due to the extremely serious symptoms you describe.
- Due to the flow that this number of dishes generates, our products are systematically and necessarily fresh because they are delivered every day.

We looked at the receipt for your table to better understand your message: Savoyard fondue, Caesar salads, beef tenderloins… all of this products are our "classical ones" that we serve a lot and which are unlikely to make you sick!

Being a particularly well-known establishment in the region, we are checked very regularly by the veterinary services and the hygiene services mandated by the French government. Also, we are working with an independent laboratory that checks our kitchen, our cold rooms and our supply chains EACH MONTH.

In a ski resort and, as we are used to, viruses are transmitted particularly quickly because of the "closed" life. So let's not rule out the presence of one or more sick people in your group, having transmitted a nasty gastro to all the guests at your table.

We would be curious to discuss with you the consequences that this story has caused your group, sincerely hoping that everyone now feeling good.

Cordially,

20 wedding guests who attended this restaurant last week have all had sickness and diarrhoea. My husband is still not ok a week down the line and yesterday I had to drop him off at our hospital back home. They rushed him through straight away as his heart rate was so fast and he was told he has 0% hydration left in his body. He had to sit on a drip and have 2 litres of fluid put back in his body aswel as anti sickness drugs. They said if he had not come in when he had then later that day he would have passed out. The groom of the wedding was panicking on the day of his wedding, whether he was going to be able to stand at the alter for his bride without having to run to the toilet. My 8 year old son had to travel home on Saturday on the aeroplane with sickness and diarrhoea. We already suspected it was food poisoning at this restaurant and the blood test my husband had yesterday confirmed the food poisoning. We were told by another restaurant owner in morzine that this restaurant pre cooks all their food and warms it back up before giving it to a customer which is a big factor for bacteria. If I knew environmental health in morzine I would be contacting them. This restaurant needs a deep clean before anybody else is poorly and I suppose people only with a size of party we had could ever track their illness back to this restaurant. I wonder how many other people have been poorly this last week and not know where it was from or what it was. I have never reviewed a restaurant before but what I have had to watch this last week with my family who have had to sit in the chalet not able to leave because of how poorly they felt, my mum, dad, brother, husband, kids, aunties, uncles, cousins and the rest of the wedding party. If this isn’t a wake up call just what is going on in that kitchen and the risks that are being taken for bacteria then this restaurant wants shutting down!
