“Superb rental, very convenient from slopes”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This place is lovely. Its a 5-min drive from the ski-lifts in Morzine (definitely not worth a walk) but there's also a free bus from the top of the road to the slopes.

Very comfortable and clean inside. I was amazed to hear this was done up 3 years ago, as it looks brand spanking new. Very comfortable beds and lovely living area with dining table, as you can see from the photos.

Val and Gerald are a lovely couple - incredibly helpful with all things, and have good local tips. They work really hard and it shows in their lovely chalet - when their adjoining chalet opens, it will be an ideal double rental for a 15-ish person trip. They arrange a free shopping delivery for you when you arrive and can arrange a daily bakery delivery of lovely croissants etc.

Another bonus, which Gerald pointed out to me, is that you can stand outside the chalet in the morning, gaze south at the outstanding views of Morzine and Avoriaz, and decide which looks better for your days skiing (very useful for us when we went, as Avoriaz, though higher and more reliable, was a bit misty at times).

Will definitely try to book again on next trip to Morzine

“Home from home ski accommodation”
Reviewed 22 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Beautifully decorated barn conversion in a pretty little village about 10mins by bus from Morzine. Owners are very helpful & shopped for a few essential items prior to our arrival. Fresh bread/croissants can be delivered every morning by request. Le petite auberge just a few mins walk away serves great food & very welcoming. Kitchen contains all mod cons, spotlessly clean.
Bus/coach into Morzine runs approx every 90mins but is never packed, just make sure you are at bus stop on time, its a long time till the next! A hire car would be advantageous, there's plenty of room to park at accommodation.
Will definitely go back someday, maybe try the summer season next

“very comfortable warm and friendly”
Reviewed 16 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Location a short 10 minute drive to the Montriond lift which gives great access to Avoriaz and the rest of the slopes. There is a restaurant / bar within waling distance and Morzine is a short drive.
Run by a friendly and hospitable couple. Spacious, warm and plenty of hot water. Effectively a 4 bedroom with 2 bathroom/showers. everything well finished and new looking
They do an 'essentials shop' and organise bread / croissants each morning if requested which was a nice touch
Wifi, TV etc
cant find any fault ..well maybe the stairs to the upper floor is a bit steep esp for kids

“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chalet La Salle”

My family and I stayed at Chalet La Salle over Christmas this year and had a fantastic time. The chalet is very nicely decorated and has a homely / cosy feel to it.

I found Val & Gerald to be very helpful throughout our stay and the booking process; I emailed Val several times and she was very quick to respond. Val helped me to organise our airport transfers, find a restaurant for our chef's night off (Restaurant Le Clin d'Oeil which was amazing), offered to pick up our ski passes from the ticket office....she even picked us up some bottles of alcohol so we could have a well deserved drink when we arrived!

The only slight downside is that the chalet is a 10 minute drive out of the centre of Morzine although Val & Gerald were kind enough to take us to and from the mountain every day so it didn't pose too much of a problem. There is a bus service which operates in the area for those who want to go home earlier or later also.

We opted to have a chef come in to make our breakfast and evening meal which I would also highly recommend (a company called Chalet Chefs).

All in all we had a lovely time and would definitely book the chalet again!

“Lovely chalet in a peaceful location”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Chalet la Salle is 5 mins drive from the centre of Morzine and in a peaceful village. The chalet has been recently tastefully renovated and therefore has all new appliances, kitchen and decor etc. Bathrooms were very clean and there was plenty of hot water. There are really comfortable sofas for after a day's skiing/snowboarding! We were 4 adults and a toddler, and the owners accommodated by providing a cot and high chair for free, and there is a bath in the downstairs bathroom. The stairs inside are steep as Val (the owner) pointed out to us, but this wasn't a problem for us (we put the cot in one of the downstairs rooms), although for an elderly party, or if toddlers were in the upstairs room or mezzanine I appreciate this would be more difficult. As the downstairs is open plan, there is a nice spacious feel, but not at the cost of the warm chalet atmosphere that you expect. There is parking space immediately outside the front door, so lifting shopping and skis in is easy, and there is loads of space for skis and boots in the hallway cupboards. There isn't a big private outside space, but there is a nice long balcony running the width of the chalet with lovely views. We didn't use the pre-arrival shopping service but did get bread delivered on a couple of days which was very useful. Val and Gerald were very welcoming and helpful with quick responses to our emails before the holiday too - we had a great time and would recommend Chalet La Salle...

“Beautiful setting”
Reviewed 28 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Stayed with friends at chalet la salle and had a great time. The accomodation was spacious and had all the amenities you could need, and was a perfect base for exploring the area. The setting in a small village 5 minutes by car from the centre of Morzine, is peaceful, beautiful and relaxing and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Would recommend the chalet to travellers and suggest hiring a car if possible, as their is so much to do and see in the surrounding areas, that may not be accessible by walking etc. Would also recommend taking a trip up to Lake Montriond, which is 5 minutes away, which is stunning on a sunny day, and if you're feeling peckish, visit the pizza hut (an actual hut!) on the main road in the village for some excellent and affordable pizza.

“Weekend skiing”
Reviewed 9 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed at chalet la salle in early march for a long weekend. The chalet is a couple of miles outside of morzine and takes about 5 - 10 mins to get into town. The ski bus is 5 mins walk away so easy to get in and out for skiing.

The chalet is well equipped, spacious, warm and in a good quiet location. Ideal for a break to the resort if you are not looking for a town enter location.

There is a bar / restaurant just round the corner which is great and serves good food.

Would recommend the chalet to others
