“perfect ski trip”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

Just back from 7 nights here - it was a wonderful holiday with my ( adult ) son.
We found the staff to be friendly ,helpful and enthusiastic - in particular the young restaurant staff .
The rooms were perfectly adequate - great shower - and the hotel is ideally placed midway between the two main lifts up the mountain for skiing or walking.
The food was great - We especially enjoyed the great seafood and salad buffet starter - also the lovely cheeses - and found the staff to be knowledgeable about the local wines and produce .
Some guests ,located at the front of the hotel commented on the noise at night - at the back we were only minimally affected - it is a shame if this business is affected by the selfishness of noisy party animals frequenting local nightclubs .
Time for the Morzine authorities to clamp down on this kind of thing - those of us who are away to enjoy the skiing relish a good nights sleep !
A bit odd swimming amongst the dining tables - but a great base for a terrific ski week- 650 kilometers of scenic snow .

Room Tip: Rooms at the back seem to be quieter - but don't have as good a balcony or view over the main sq...

Upon arrival we felt immediately at home in this charming, although a little old-fashioned hotel. We had very spacious rooms ; the furniture was not recent. The acoustic isolation in the room could be better... The bath-room was new with a great rain-shower and separate toilet.
The location in Morzine is certainly THE BEST,in the center of town,in front of the "Bureau de Tourisme". At 100m the téléférique to Les Gets and at 350m the téléférique to Avoriaz and further on to Switzerland.
There is a heated indoor-pool 10x17m; and a new sauna;hammam and gym.
The outstanding cuisine is well-known,as many tourists from outside come here for dinner!! Every night a 5-course meal, with 3x per week fresh arrivals of seafood from the atlantic coast.
And the staff is very well trained, adequate and friendly.
For me it was the third time in this hotel and I'll certainly go back...

Room Tip: I always send a mail to my hotel with the request for a quiet room...

Our party consisted independent travellers and arrived at the Hotel from Geneva having booked three double rooms but with single occupancy on a demi-pension basis.

The hotel is tired, as were the managerial staff! The hotel appears to be managed from 8.00am to 10pm daily, so the hotels own web site suggestion that the hotel is a family run establishment may be true, but the "family" obviously have other interests to take care of.

I had read from the Hotel's own PR that they had applied for 4* category, well they struggle to achieve 3*, so I hope the owners are not getting their hopes up to much!

The hotel is noisy, the rooms having little or no sound insulation, and many overlook the Morzine bars and night clubs that pour out their customers through out the night, quickly followed by the bin-men at 5.00am. If you want a (good) night's sleep, choose your room carefully.

No money appears to have been invested in the hotel in recent year's. The reception lounge/bar and lobby need a serious overhaul and some new furniture. My room was very tired, bed covers worn and two single beds the size of large cots The sliding balcony window hardly shut, which didn't help with the nocturnal noises. The intervening walls between rooms were paper thin and so any noise from adjoining rooms was easily transmitted, including the noise of emptying sinks and flushing wastes.

The bedroom "ensuite" shower room contained a washbasin, shower, plastic curtain on three sides, and a WC, but all three were in an area of about 1 Sq Metre

Breakfast and dinner were served around the heated swimming pool, literally, for some diners, on the pool edge, giving a humid atmosphere, to breakfast and evening meals.

The food was OK, but little choice for Demi-Pension clients. The restaurant was popular for a la carte dining from non resident customers, so the hotel guests were not the centre of attention.

The waiting staff were attentive and friendly, unlike the restaurant manager.

The food was reasonably good, although breakfast was a repetitive uninspiring buffet offering.

The cost at €250 per night somewhat expensive for the quality and not good value when compared with other French Alpine winter ski hotels.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor at the back of the hotel, overlooking the pool roof are quietest, don't...

Had an excellent stay at this hotel in late March 2011 - 3 girlfriends on a week's skiing holiday booked through Crystal - we got an excellent deal by booking late. We had booked a triple room and on arrival were shown to quite a small double with a single bed next to it, it was all very tight and not ideal for 3 adults particularly with ski wear etc. We asked if there was anything bigger, the manager was incredibly helpful and as the hotel was not quite full there were a couple of other options, one of which was a room with a sofabed in the lounge area and then up some steps to a mezzanine with twin beds, and a lobby area which gave us much more elbow room. It was very comfortable and perfect for us.

We loved this hotel, the quality of the food at breakfast and dinner was superb, the bar area was good fun and across the course of the week we fell in at different times with other guests and it was all very friendly. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly.

Being late March the weather was warm and sunny so one afternoon we even enjoyed a swin in the pool - they slid the glass roof back so it was like being outside! - and sat on the sunloungers in the garden.

Great location in the heart of the town and close to ski lifts, bars, restaurants, shops, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

very nice hotel for skiing.
Good location
Clean rooms, great dinners with oyesters and prawns every night. Pool and sauna, free internet.
Staff is great and efficient
and there was a nice surprise to us, that at Russian Christmas they made special dinner for us, with menu at cards, with flowers to women and congratulate us at Russian:)

As about minuces:
Just a little overpriced
Bed is not good

A friend and I stayed in this hotel for 2-nights for a short ski-trip on a half-board basis. It was very well located and I found the staff to be helpful, polite and efficient. The bedrooms are relatively basic - but clean and reasonably well equipped (safe, flat-screen tv) - pretty much what you'd expect for this type of hotel in a ski-resort. The food, and the restaurant service, was excellent. I'd certainly stay at this hotel again.

My wife And I have just returned from a half term break to Morzine. There were 18 of us in total, spread between chalets, a family-owned apartment and, to our misfortune, les Airelles.
Upon checking into our €330 per night room, we found our own way to a room that had clearly not had a euro spent on it within the last twenty years. Tiny, tatty bathroom, chipped paint everywhere, a balcony no more than two feet wide, sliding wardrobe doors that flatly refused to slide (bear in mind this was one of their "double plus" rooms). I immediately asked for another room and was shown to an even smaller one. Even by French ski resort standards, this one was a gem. Had there been a cat around to swing etc. Upon asking for a room that was bigger than a broom cupboard, we were told that there were no other rooms available. This despite the fact I'd booked the room some 4 months earlier and secured it with a €500 deposit. I was further told, and I quote," if you don't like it, go back to
England." This from a hotel whose web site promises "only smiles welcoming you".
The only positive thing I can say about this place is it's location, right in the centre of the town. That's about all you get for your €330 per night.
