We stayed for 5 nights skiing. The rooms were comfortable. The food was far better than expected. Staff could not have been more helpful - for example on our first day when collecting our skis they kindly drove to the village during the day and collected our shoes to bring back to the hotel for us. Free wifi.

You need the free ski bus to a choice of lifts - approx 100m walk to the stop

About 10 mins walk to the village of Morzine - steep uphill back!

Room Tip: We stayed in Charron which had twin and bunk beds so ideal if you have younger children

We ended up booking up for a skiing holiday at short notice and were offered a free upgrade to a junior suite in this hotel. We had asked if we could not do half board as we've had bad experiences with this before, but this wasn't an option. We were assured that there were 2 really good restaurants in the hotel but actually there is only one - but there are 2 menus! (the set meal and the A La Carte). We really have been astounded by the quality of the food here. Every night there is another amazing 3 course meal. I know some of the other reviews made comments about portion sizes but I have to say they have it just about perfect. (There is always plenty more of the bread selection which you can ask for anyway). So from 2 foodies- we'd really recommend this place. If you know your wines, as the owner does, you'll definitely be happy with the selection available.

There is a sauna - which is great, and a jacuzzi - which isn't very hot but works really well temperature-wise after the sauna. The swimming pool is really quite small and I didn't bother trying it.

The room we had was a 'junior suite' which had plenty of space for 2 of us. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities although the staff were happy to bring this up to your room if requested. We had a bath rather than a shower, but this was fine. The hotel is quite noisy because of the typical wooden construction. You do hear every door shut (or slam!) so having a lie-in isn't really an option.

The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. In fact, we thought they demonstrated the best customer service we've experienced in ages.

Room Tip: Junior suite has ample room for 2 people - would be a tight squeeze for 4. (There are 2 extra pull o...

I only stayed here for 2 nights but had a great time, the snow was poor but having a hotel with a jacuzzi and sauna meant we could stop skiing early , drink some vino and go back and have a soak. Beds were comfy, linen good quality, shower rooms effective, free wifi meant I could get my newspaper in bed etc. Will be back earlier in the season and can't wait. So close to Geneva and excellent.

Overall a lovely place, we stayed for 4 nights on our honeymoon. Maybe we were a bit disapointed to be staying in the little chalet next door, but the room was lovely - a bit small but we were skiing all day so it didn't really matter. We seemed to have the place to ourselves apart from one night when we had neighbours with a tiny baby next door and the walls are a bit thin! The food was excellent - ok if you like everything as there was only one choice but they were ok to change it for you with a bit of notice - make sure you look at the menu in the morning for that night! The restaurant staff were lovely, very organised. Wine was expensive, nothing much under 30 euros and they ran out of the house wine pretty quick. We found that we were left to ourselves, not much of an atmosphere, no one really joined in or chatted much, didn't matter to us as we were honeymooners but if we were on a normal holiday maybe we would of liked more of the friendly side. We got most of our conversation at breakfast with the lovely Danish girl who worked int the little chalet. Good location on the way to Avoriaz, ask about the short cut walk into town - glad we found that out.

Room Tip: Really nice, could be a bit more friendly.

We just traveled from Florida to Morzine for a 7 day ski trip and the Chalet Philibert made the journey worthwhile. Serge and his staff go the extra yard to make you feel at home. The chef made exceptional dishes each night and the presentations were on par with any 5 star restaurant. We would highly recommend......Alex and Tracy S

I stayed here with my wife for a 4 day ski break in March 2010. As stated by another reviewer, I can confirm that the pub wasn't operating, as we'd have been right above it, and would have certainly popped in. The bar area by reception is extremely small. It can only sit perhaps a dozen people, if that, absolute max. The drinks are very expensive. We spent £30+ on a decent bottle of wine each night. Beers were about £4 a bottle, and we're only talking Heineken or something like that. Having said that, when you sit in the bar and have a drink in the early evening, they bring you a plate of nice bites to eat. The breakfast, and the evening meals (daily changing set menu) were all well prepared, and of good quality. I have to say, for those with a healthy appetite though, the portions of food are on the small side. The service was good: Friendly, personable, helpful. Not the French stereotype. Overall it was a nice experience (though a pricey one!) staying at the Philibert, but the above comments indicate areas for improvement based on our stay.

The hotel is set 5-10 mins walk from the ski lifts in a peaceful location (the pub in the basement has now gone) and is very nicely decorated in a rustic savoyard style. We really enjoyed the sauna and pool, and the food and restaurant staff were excellent. The two drawbacks were that (a) the food wasn't filling enough for hungry skiers and (b) the bar area is quite small which means that if you want to have a drink you would probably have to go elsewhere (the Petit Dru hotel bar is just down the road). These two drawbacks made me question the hotel's value for money.

I would recommend the hotel to someone who is really into high quality food.
