“Great Alpine hotel”

Everything about this hotel is welcoming. The food is superb, the people are all genuinely very friendly, the rooms and the beds are very comfortable and the the hotel is ideally situated right on the edge of town, 2 minutes walk from the centre and the Pleney lift.

Have just returned from a weeks holiday as part of a group of 8. Very good hotel, traditional alpine decoration. Rooms fairly compact, but very comfortable and clean.

Hotel very well positioned, 5 minutes walk to bars and shops but quiet.

Stand out features are food and service. Stayed half board, and all meals were excellent. Extremely friendly and genuine service, especially in the restaurant and bar. Breakfast more than expected, with hot as well as continental options each day.

Overall, really good stay. Recommended.

We stayed here for a weeks B+B in August. The hotel is well placed, a short walk from the town centre, lifts and sports centre. The rooms (12+1) were spacious and clean, decorated in a traditional Alpine fashion and had a large shared balcony. Bathrooms were fine although I would have liked to be able to hook up the over bath shower. The breakfasts were plentiful and varied and the one dinner we had was good, a small 'A La Carte' menu and a nightly special, we had the raclette and it was on a par with other restaurants in town. The hotel has a small garden with table tennis and boule and a small pool. There is also a small spa area but we did not use this. We did use the bar and there is a lounge in addition to the dining room. The staff were friendly and attentive and we would return to the hotel again.

There are some places where one could come back again and again. Morzine and le Sporting hotel is one of these places.
Le Sporting is a really lovely hotel with a very nice service. I do not understand why they have only 3 stars. We usually go for 4 star hotels but given the lovely reviews and pictures we thought that we give it a try – and it was totally worth it.
There is plenty of space in the room; our son had his own place to sleep in with a nice view. Not to mention some welcome sweets on the bed.
The place is very clean, loved and nicely decorated. Rainy days are not a problem. You can spend the time reading a book, drink coffee or just play in the beautifully decorated lodge area. There is also an indoor ice rink and a water park in vicinity.
The hotel has small but cosy swimming pool – just the right size to have some swim.
As we wanted to explore the place we had only one dinner in the hotel but it was really tasty. Morzine is a picturesque place with some nice walks for families. Few days later we left for Chamonix, but the charm of the place and hospitality of the people there stayed with us for the rest of our summer holidays.
I hope we will be back there soon for the winter time.

2nd time at Hotel Sporting and again no disappointments. Proprietors Fred and Nagine are the perfect hosts, always extremely helpful and always with a smile and a sense of humour. Staff all extremely helpful. Food is fantastic and plentiful and amenities( with the new sauna and steam room) excellent. Located a short stroll from the Plenney cable car up to the main slopes although there is access to a nursery slope tow bar across the road to allow easy non walking access to the cable car,but this isn't always open for skiers wishing to be first on the slopes. Overall, highly recommend Hotel Sporting, I'll definitely be back.

We've just returned from Hotel Sporting having stayed there before we were looking forward to returning, the Hotel is very clean, staff are really friendly some of the rooms can be on the small side but hey your only in there to sleep. The sauna and steam room are new since we last visited an are really lush. We were surprised to get a hot breakfast this time which was great. However if you like al a cart after a day skiing then the food is for you, if you want a hearty meal after a full day up then this is certainly not going to please you. If you let them know in the morning that you don't like what is on the menu (if you've not gone out before they put it up) they will cook something else apart from fondue night as they don't have a chief that night. Got to say if we go again we will only stay on a bed and breakfast bases. We preferred their old menu. Oh and not all the rooms have a shower.

Room Tip: I know room 18 is a good room as our friends had this one, only down side there is only a bath and...

We have just returned from a great week spent at Hotel Sporting and it really was the best place we have stayed whilst on a ski-ing holiday. The new sauna and steam room was amazing and the owners were so helpful and friendly so too were the girls in the dining room.
Our room was clean, comfortable with fabulous views and food that was deliciously presented and plentiful. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
