Charming and quiet oldfashioned familyrun elegant chalet, friendly personal, good sauna with pool and good kitchen. Skibusses take you often enough to cabinlifts and center of village in 5 minutes. Warmly recommended.

Restaurant Le Philibert is much more than a restaurant within a hotel. This restaurant stands alone as one of the very best in the area and the dining room is open to non-residents every evening.

We arrived 30 minutes early and enjoyed a delicious glass of wine and a bottle of Mont Blanc beer in the cozy lounge before dinner. Menus were presented by a very efficient, friendly and knowledgable head waitress - all of the staff speak English so you needn't worry.

The decor of the restaurant is in the traditional Savoyarde style, so you really feel that you're in the mountains. Smart white linen table cloths, cozy lighting and ample space between dining tables make for a romantic, intimate occasion.

The hotel owner Serge chose our wine for us and selected a delicious Cotes du Rhone, which accompanied our meals perfectly. After a freshly baked bread roll and a very tasty amuse bouche, my starter of scallops with bacon salt were beautifully seared, while the homemade sweetbread and pork terrine was also delicious. My roasted saddle of Provence lamb was the most delicious and tender I have ever eaten, the potato gnocchi and olive jus was mouthwatering, as was the roasted red mullet with squid mash. With barely any room left for dessert, we couldn't help ordering a rum baba with lemongrass syrup to top off a perfectly delicious and special evening.

Whilst there are many excellent restaurants in Morzine, serving the ski holiday dishes you'd expect, Restaurant Le Philibert is in a whole other league.
