We had a lovely welcome by the staff on our arrival at La Renardiere. We were given room 14 (triple) on the top floor at the front, room was basic but very comfortable, stunning views from balcony, had no problems sleeping with traffic on road even with balcony doors open, only awoke by racing cars taking part in the "Mont Blanc" rally towards the end of the week.

The meals and afternoon cakes were superbly cooked and the chefs were very kind to offer alternatives for a fussy eater. The service by staff was excellent, they would always ask you about your day and were full of useful information if you were unsure of anything.

The quiz night was a good laugh and the general feel of an evening in the bar or sitting outside in the garden was relaxed and friendly. The outdoor pool and hot tub was enjoyed by all and the small garden was pleasant in an afternoon unwinding after the days activities.

The area for walking and biking was great although the local maps and routes could be clearer and better marked. Lots of activities were on offer and are organised well. Some of the lakes are beautiful and great for swimming in, if walking or biking dont forget your bathing gear, worth a dip to cool off! Just a note, if wanting to swim in the local pool in Morzine gents will need speedo style swimwear as swimshorts are not permitted.Take your own towel for swimming.

All in all a great holiday made better by Dave the manager and all staff being such lovely friendly hosts, must be the "Morzine Magic"!

Room Tip: Stunning views over Morzine from rooms to front, balcony catches early morning sun,

We have just returned from Morzine spending a week at this hotel with Alpine Elements.

Dave and his team were fantastic.

Food very good and the chefs went out of their way to provide alternatives for out children.
Location was good with a 5-8 min walk into town. Some stunning views from the garden and pool area.
Rooms were basic but clean and adequate for our needs.
Common rooms were good - Great small bar and TV room with Sky.
Overall a great small hotel with excellent staff who go out of their way to ensure your requirements are met.

Room Tip: Bring your own towels.

dissapointed with the accomodation. the "lovely" garden was a sea of bare patches and weeds and was impossible to relax in due to its proximity to the main road to les Gets.
If you can stand almost constant traffic noise in one ear and radio one blaring from the bar in the other, then this place is for you. The rooms are very "cosy" to say the least, and the balconys are tiny, fine if you dont expect to spent much time at home.
The restaurant is clean and spacious and the food was of a good standard. I did however on two occasions have to tell the very polite and attentive staff to turn down thier totally innapropriate music which they insisted on playing during mealtimes. Most of the paying guests are forty somethings like myself, some twenty years older than the majority of the staff, a fact that seemed to have passed them by. In summary, for a large majority of the time, all the staff were determined to be the very best that they could be, and mostly succeeded, Hats off to them and shame on the management

From the minute we were welcomed by Dave and the team we felt at home. The atmosphere and service was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, even for a picky eater! The rooms were a clean and tidy. The location was fine and all of the amenities were easily accessible from the hotel. Our favourite things were the staff and the food, our least favourite thing was the bikes (not good for downhill biking which was a bit difficult when you were surrounded by mountain tracks that demanded better spec'd bikes). We loved the white water rafting - it was ace! We also loved Dave's famous pool party - great fun for all participants. We were a family travelling with a 9 year old boy and found lots of other kid friendly stuff to do like rope adventures, pony trekking and ice skating. It didn't have to be all about extreme sports. We will be visiting again :)

Room Tip: All rooms are on a par so don't fret!

We chose this hotel by default as it was one of two offered by Alpine Elements for a summer activity hoilday in the area. We were not sure how easy it would be to organise the activiities, imagining having to trek around town choosing service providers. However Alpine Elements made it incredibly simple and hassle-free, having a rep who was in the hotel at the most appropriate times and who took the bookings and made all the phone calls to check availability etc.
The welcome we got was marvellous-four smiling staff to greet the minibus and to take our luggage. That set the tone for the week. The staff were excellent, offering help at the slightest sign of us needing it. The manager Dave, was friendly and professional who took pride in keeping the pool and hot tub spotlessly clean, as well as taking time to chat with all the guests at different times. The personal touch extended to helping us out too-he lent us his bicycle lock for the day so we didn't have to buy one. Little things like that can count!
The food was suprisingly good. It was always a set menu, pretty British in its style, but very tasty and nicely cooked-no mushy veg or chewy meat. In fact, the meat was always superbly tender. The dessert chef was particularly good-we had both excellent panacotta and individual banoffee pie.
The hot tub was a massive hit with our 3 kids.
As for negatives, well, the only slight things which may cause concern to some were a thinnish wall between 2 of the rooms and some uncleared wastepaper bin liners in the corridor for a day.
Other than that, a great holiday, great value. We particularly appreciated the free 3 day bike hire (although not 4 as we were told at time of booking). Activities themselves weren't cheap if you have a family eg parapente $70, quad bike $40, bike hire $20 . For info, the fantasticable which looked great fun, proved a bit elusive because there are weight restrictions according to weather. Min 50kg one day, 60kg the next due to some wind. Definitely worth phoning before you make the trip up there to do it.
All in all, excellent service right from booking to leaving, good value and great fun.

July’s excursion saw me and a mate head to Morzine for a taste of mounting biking. We went with Alpine Elements via the net, who seemed helpful and prompt on the phone while booking in London. On arrival at Geneva we were greeted and taken straight by car to the Hotel (1 hour 10 minutes) with a few other guests. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and we were shown to our room, without any delay. The bar seemed warm and comfortable (beers 4 Euro, with loyalty card), while the hot tub was inviting on a sunny clean deck, the garden was also in good order.

The rooms were basic but had everything required for s biking holiday. The bathroom window proved challenging to open while showering but I was just being greedy in wanting to see the amazing views while washing but a small price to pay as the balcony was spacious with room to relax and chill sat in a chair watching the sun fade into the valley.

So let’s get this correct the 2* Hotel Renardiere is for people who want to be comfortable while biking without room service and the luxuries of a 5* (see Madeira review, if you want this). It’s perfect for groups of bikers who wish to chill after hard days on the slopes situated in a fine location. The only issue with the company seemed to be with not the Hotel but Alpine elements (London) in the case of bikes included in the package are not suitable for the red runs! This was not mentioned on the phone! So an upgrade was required at 145 euro, but this did allow use of bikes for 6 day not 3 and staff in the workshop do a fine job making sure your bike is in working order for 9am start.

So the Stellar part of the hotel was the food which I have to say batted well above expectation (thank you Mark et al) not just with value but in regards to quality. The location which boasts fine views is a 7 minutes walk back after a night of festivities in town. But the main reason to choose the Renardiere was the kindness of the staff who were endlessly accommodating, late for breakfast, dinner or just need help with where best bike runs. Manager David and his team made a first class job in making our stay enjoyable and super value, thank you all.

Ignore negative comment as hotel is now under new management. We had a great stay here - staff, food etc all very good and only a short walk to town centre. Great views of town and surrounding area from room. Whilst mainly mountain bike groups families were well catered for. And our towels were changed frequently! Would definitely stay again. A great location for outdoor lovers. And MTB heaven.
