The staff were very warm, friendly and accommodating - particularly as I injured my knee early in the week. The double room was small, but that was expected. There were some rowdy street revellers a couple of nights which drifted up, but really that is no fault of the hotel. The food was great. The transfer with ski hire collection and return was very efficient with no hassles. The only negative about the whole experience is that the bed was too soft.

We were really concerned about staying here after reading some terrible reviews. We traveled with our three teenage daughters and stayed in the five bed room. We had a fantastic time. The rooms are simple but clean and functional. The food was simple, warm, filling and plenty of it. The bar was lively but didn't disturb us once we were in bed and it was great to be able to sit at the table all evening enjoying the lively fun without the hassle of standing at a bar and trying to entertain the kids. They brought card games etc so we were all happy. Don't be put off by the busy bar our kids (11, 13 and 14) thought it was great fun !!! And to top it all the snow was fantastic !!

Ok its not 5* - but if you want a value couples / group ski holiday then Rhodos may be just what you are looking for, I wouldn't advise it for families as the only communal areas is the bar / restraunt.

Great service , great food , reasonable priced drinks and great fun . Our room was compact but clean and everything worked . The bar area is great for a couple of Apres beers or if you don't want to venture out later on , the restraunt area is next to the bar and is nice + light , a couple of evenings we just sat there after dinner and watched the football on the HUGE tv's. Big up to the staff who couldn't do enough for you ..

Now onto the practicalities - Its about 10 mins walk from the centre of morzine itself ( add 5 mins for ski boots). The morzinelets website associated with the hotel allows you to book ski hire , lift passes and transfers easily and cheaply - brilliant ! . Ski bus stop is opposite the hotel and takes you to a couple of places - we went out of morzine to the bottom of another gondala in Ardent - we found this much easier than walking to the super-morzine gondala which is about 10 - 15 mins walk . You can also get to les prodains and the big gondala up to avoriaz. Skiing area is great in the portes du soleil and apres is good too !

Suggested improvements - it would have been nice to be able to upgrade your continental to full english but if you want this you have to wait til 9am and pay the full €13 , also a pint of coke was €5 !! considerably more than a beer !!

P.s - Try the home made caramel vodka - its fantastic !

We booked this holiday through Morzinelets and had no hassle from the moment we made the booking. I had to change our booking slightly before we went and it was no hassle for Morzinelets to change our room with no extra charge. The transfers through Morzinelets to The Rhodos went very smoothly both ways, no hanging around. On arrival at The Rhodos the manager met us and was very informative and checked us all in straight away, there were 13 of us and we arrived before noon but were all given our rooms straight away, which meant we could all head straight out onto the slopes! The evening meals were 3 course and very good, there wasn't a night where I didn't eat the food and I am quite fussy, the desserts were amazing! Also there were 2 vegetarians in our party and their meals looked lovely.
All the bar staff seemed British except one French girl who was a little stand offish and grumpy looking but couldn't fault them on the whole, very friendly, especially Breda. The breakfast wasn't the best, cereal. bagettes butter/jams and croissants and pan au chocolate, tea/coffe and juice, but really if you had a cooked breakfast you wouldn't be able to move so it was adequate for a skiing holiday. The only critisism is the croissants and pan au choloclate were a bit dry as if they had been warmed up too long and the first couple of mornings of our stay no-one came to top up the bread, juice or coffee so if you arrived after 8.20am you were snookered! I think this was because our party seemed to be the only guests in the hotel for the first few days of our stay. After a few days more guests arrived and the staff seemed to keep a better eye on things on the breakfast shift.
We had a double room and it was tiny, but you only use the room for sleeping so it wasn't a major problem for us. It was clean and the bathroom a nice size. Some of our party had twin rooms and they were a lot bigger so I would book one of those next time. It was our first snowboarding holiday and the location made it excellent for us, just a short walk into the town and you had the choice hire shops and the bubble cars at Plenny or the SuperMorzine up to Avoriaz. The town itself was lovely, very picturesque, my only other experience in France was Paris and I must say all the staff in the shops were very polite and pleasant in comparison ( in Paris they were very rude).
The bar was very hustle and bustle most nights, it seemed to be a snowboarder hangout and the same faces were in most nights but there was no hassle a good crowd, plenty of drinks and cider on draught which kept me happy! The bar next door The Dixie Bar is good for a change and is massive. I would love to go back in the Summer and would definitely return the The Rhodos, we all had a great stay:)

Room Tip: If you're over around 5' 7" the corridor to the top floor rooms is a bit height restric...

We didnt stay here but went to the bar every day after skiing for drinks. The bar staff are friendly and quick. Theres very often live music playing and you must try the Mutzig.
I wouldnt recommend it to families or older couples but for a group of young party-going skiiers, it'd be ideal.

Firstly, I will start with the positives, a couple of the staff, in particular Breda were excellent, and the evening food wasn't bad.
That's it...
The negatives.
Rubbish breakfast, how anyone let alone children are expected to ski on a croissant, coffee and stale cereal alone is beyond me. To add insult to injury, they sell a Full English from 9.00am onwards!!
Evening meal (which you have to pay for) has to be taken between 6.30 and 7.00pm, how restrictive is that?
Rooms twice turned over in a week, bathrooms not cleaned at all, revolting!
Insufficient light in the bedrooms, meant we had to put out all our clothes the previous evening in daylight hours.
Surly staff, for the most part with zero training.
Had to ask numerous times for the heating to be turned on, in a ski resort, I ask you?
Sound insulation non existent, Ok, have to accept that for New Years Eve, but every night!!
No drying room.
All in all, it was very obvious that the Residents came a very distant second to the main business of the bar. Take the money (up front of course) and treat people appallingly. I cans ee the trend of these revews and sincerely hope it stops other people going there.

Room Tip: There isn't one!!!!!!!!!!!
