“Family vacation on Long Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

This island is filled with amazing adventures & this is one of them! My children had a blast exploring the area- we found sand dollars that they will treasure for years! My children enjoyed the cool, clear water- the soft sand & that they could touch the bottom for a long distance! The blue hole is a wonder to experience! Must bring googles, snorkel , etc to see the underwater beauty!!!

“Fun snorkeling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

The water is beautiful, and the hole is like no other. The view from above the hole is awesome. The snorkeling is good on the edge of the hole and we had a 4' barracuda swim with us in the swallow sandy bottom adjacent to the hole. Once off the main road the turns are a little tricky because of the lack of signs. But it's not too hard.

“Stunning”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

You take a dirt road to an empty beach, snorkel 20 yards, and suddenly you're over a 600+ foot blue hole. It's stunning and a bit erie. If you're bold, you can climb a surrounding rock formation and jump in. Many of the locals believe there's quicksand or a whirlpool and they don't go near it---all of which isn't true, but adds to the adventure.

“Awesome place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

Dean's is worth more than one visit if you are on Long Island for an extended period of time. We are infrequent snorkelers, and I admit it was a little un-nerving snorkeling over the edge the first time, but it's exhilirating once you get used to it. My wife wore a life jacket to ease her fears, but it wasn't at all necessary. Fish blanket the gradual drop over the edge, t.hen a steep cliff drops off to nowhere. The beach is nice and the drive is easy, so if you are on LI don't miss it.
