Have just got back from a wonderful weekend in this cottage. There were four adults and we all had a wonderful time and agreed this cottage was a gem of a find. The cottage has all your home comforts its cosy comfortable and homely. It's within easy striking distance of the forest and some lovely walks. We visited the spectacular puzzle woods and Dean Gaol. Wonderful weekend all in all. We will most definitely return.

“Excellent stay”
Reviewed 24 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Stayed at twixt cottage for four nights mid april.
Easy to find and was located on a narrow road with lots of different styles of house. The cottage name is on a plaque so easy to see.
Room on the drive for 2 cars depending on size. Nice big gate to make it secure for pets and kids.
Cottage has a good size porch to store boots, coats etc before entering the kitchen so you don't track mud in.
Decent sized kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, hob and oven, kettle, toaster.
Nice touches include dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, hand wash, tea, coffee, biscuits, local jar of honey, milk and a lovely bottle of wine.
Lounge had a reclining leather sofa, tv, WiFi, some books and log burning fire with all the bits needed to create a nice fire.
Good size dining table and four chairs both inside and on the patio.
Back garden very private and enclosed so safe for our dog to wander about. Back gate locked with key available so we could take a short cut into the village. Shed available to store bikes etc and key for padlock hung in kitchen.
Double bed in the master bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom.
Bathroom with big shower downstairs.
We had an amazing stay here. As soon as you walk in you are hit with a very clean and fresh smell. Everything was spotless and thought had been put into little touches throughout.
Will definitely stay here again. Brilliant location for exploring the forest (we saw loads of wild boar) and easy access to Wales. Everyone local who we met were friendly and cheerful, making us feel at home and chips were good from the local chippy!

“Lovely cottage in The Forest”
Reviewed 12 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

What a great place to stay, quiet area, easy parking and very clean and well maintained property. All in all a character cottage with great facilities, everything we could have wanted in one of our favourite destinations.

“Absolute perfection”
Reviewed 17 October 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Well, where do we start?

What an absolutely fantastic find this was. The accommodation was beautiful and very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The garden was secure and well thought out for both humans and dogs! Lovely layout to the accommodation, so comfy and cosy!

Superb location right on the edge of the forest so we had some beautiful walks. Be warned though, your dogs need a good recall as this was a mining area and there are fenced off shafts in the woods etc that determined dogs can get into!

The location of he cottage was also perfect for exploring the joys that the Forest has to offer. Not too far a car drive from many of the tourist attractions but beautifully rural enough to truly relax and be at ease. Horse riding, kayaking, pottery, crafts, Segways, Go Ape, all within easy reach and these were just the things we did!! Trips into Wales are also easily achievable.

Thank you so much, Jamie for such a brilliant stay and all the information that was provided in the accommodation. 2 weeks simply wasn't long enough so hopefully we'll be abke to book again soon!

“The Perfect hideaway indeed!”
Reviewed 11 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Spent a weekend at this wonderful cottage with friends...it's a shame we couldn't stay longer. It is the perfect hideaway within the Forest of Dean. The Cottage itself is lovely, cosy and alot bigger than we had first thought. Kitchen and bathroom were a good size. Beds were very comfy as we all had a quiet nights sleep. We enjoyed using the log burner too. Location of the property is great, there are pubs and other food places at a walking distance. There are also many activities to do nearby from canoeing to zip wiring.

The owner, Jamie was very helpful with answering all our questions promptly. Also the information to get to the Cottage and during our stay was easy to follow & well provided.

We would recommend this Cottage for friends, families & anyone who wants a perfectly quiet getaway.
