After a beautiful scenic drive from Cambridgeshire passing through Oxfordshire we arrived at The Old Dairy and what an absolute gem it is, beautifully furnished, well equipped and Lorraine had supplied fresh fruit and breakfast bits to get us started. The surrounding countryside is stunning with great walking and interesting places to visit... will definitely return!
This place is amazing, perfectly located for long walks and the scenery is wonderful. The accommodation was very welcoming and had all we needed to make our stay very comfortable, wonderfully furnished throughout. Lorraine had left us fresh fruit and breakfast bits, a lovely touch.
We will definitely be returning.
After a smooth drive down a small country lane you are met but the beautiful old dairy cottages. The location was quiet and had amazing countryside views, perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Lorraine rang on the day to make sure we knew how to get in cottage. And, an email beforehand detailed all the need-to-knows that made the trip easy and excellent. Perfect for the dog: spare bowls, pet towels and blankets were provided. A detailed welcome pack, walking and eating recommendations made the stay perfect.
Thanks a lot to Lorraine for providing this little bit of countryside excellence.
Wonderfully relaxing, beautifully presented.Everything we needed.
Would definitely love to return in future
After a scenic drive from Oxfordshire the cottage was very straight forward to find with good parking.
The location is excellent for all activities and local amenities.
The cottage itself was welcoming , with all home comforts and amazing views right from the front door.
The welcome pack of flowers, fruit , food items and message made it all the more inviting. Everything was thought of - very well equipped.
From the word go I felt right at home in the peace and quiet of the beautiful surrounds.
A great place for anyone single or couples or families.
I'll be back!!
So glad we found this little gem of a cottage! Perfect in every way, comfy and cosy, everything you could possibly want and more (what a welcome pack!)It is in an incredible location with fantastic walks on your doorstep. Plus Lorraine was so very kind and accommodating allowing us to change our date at the very last minute!
Thank you will be back without a doubt!
When you go self-catering, you never know what will be provided in the cottage until you arrive. No fears at the Old Dairy Cottage No 1. Everything possible was provided. A plus for us was that the cottage garden/patio was fully enclosed by a fence so that we could let our dogs out morning and evening to do what dogs do.
There was a welcome pack provided which included apple, orange, grapes, pineapple, milk and juice. Also, we were offered a bottle of wine. As we are not great wine drinkers, we declined, so we were offered two bottles of local cider. Very thoughtful. The main reason we go away in early November is that one of our dogs is terrified of loud fireworks. Being in the country away from a main town solves this problem and this was the case in this relatively quiet lane away from the main centre of Mitcheldean. We would not hesitate in recommending this cottage in a particular beautiful part of the country.
