Where to start, i have so many good things to say about wren cottage and the owners! we were met and welcomed on arrival, and asked to let the owners know if we needed any assistance or advice during our stay. the cottage is beautiful, very homey, spotlessly clean, with everything you need to hand, There is a file on the shelf with local information and walks, places to eat etc. The wildlife garden is a brilliant idea, we made many visits there to see the jays. There is a £1 coin meter, though it takes very few coins as the electricity seems to last, and even in November the wood-burner is enough to keep the cottage cosy.all in all an amazing, quiet, tranquil, holiday, just perfect

“Wonderfull”

We could not have hoped for a better location or setting. The cottage has been tastefully renovated, retaining original features but being brought bang up to date. The view is stunning and at night, wow, forget looking at stars in the sky, more like looking at a bit of sky in the stars. My daughter loved the sheep that wonder up past the cottage(those born in the forest have the right to graze their sheep freely) and the cottage is situated close enough to Mitcheldean to 'nip to the shops' but secluded enough to feel like the middle of nowhere. If I could quit work and move anywhere it would be here!

“A little slice of heaven”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Perfection. Quirky. Serene. Peaceful. Hilly! Just some of the words to best describe Wren Cottage and it's location. You need a car. And to be quite mobile-it's a trek from the house up a steep incline back to the car. If you're looking for a spacious house, this isn't for you. It's tiny but perfectly formed. The gardens are havens of tranquility. The surrounding woodland is stunningly peaceful. The walks are amazing. Wake up to the sounds of lambs, a cuckoo, pheasants, a cockerel, even the donkey in the field behind the cottage. No traffic noise. No people noise. Just peace and quiet. The cottage has everything you need-well equipped kitchen, log fire, very comfy bed, maps, books, wifi, TV, a welcome package of local produce, you can buy eggs from the farm 100 yards away. Oh, and did I mention the peace and quiet?! Quite simply the best place me, my OH and our beagle have stayed. Ever.

“Stunning location, perfect cottage for two”
Reviewed 9 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

My partner and I stayed for five nights in Little Wren cottage in March 2014. The cottage is situated in a serene area which was ideal for the peace and quiet we were seeking. The cottage is very well maintained; there is an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, a cosy living room (with a log fire) and a comfortable bedroom upstairs. Upon arrival, it was very easy to obtain they key to the cottage and in the cottage, we were treated to a complimentary bottle of local Gloucestershire Apple juice and confectionary.

The owners Lis and Karen are very friendly and are willing to give tips and advice on things to do in the local area.

The area surrounding the cottage is beautiful and within a short driving distance to many viewpoints and historic sites.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this cottage as a place to stay when visiting the Wye Valley and Gloucestershire.
