“New Years Eve”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2013

Stayed here due to New years Eve party close by, room was large and comfortable, Jacuzzi bath, clean place, dining area split in to sections (rooms). Friendly staff, breakfast was made with good quality food.
Would suggest they double glaze the front windows facing main road.
Other wise would stay again............

Room Tip: Ask if they have rooms at the rear away from Main Road.

We stayed in mid October 2012 from Sunday night to Wednesday morning. We had a lovely spacious room with a jacuzzi bath. The weather turned from warm to cold and the heating was put on within minutes of asking. We loved the breakfast choices as you do not always want a full English. The evening meals are good pub grub. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We often do pub short breaks and this was the best all round. Useful as some family have moved nearby and the pub will make our visits even better.

Lovely surroundings...nicely decorated, friendly bar staff...visited on a Thu evening for dinner 4 people simple menu with good choice plenty of offers took awhile to come to get our order, and a real long time for food to arrive!!! I'm all for cooking from fresh but that was a long wait!!!! My 10 yr old ordered sausage en mash, straight away he was like hmmm is that it very small portions what we had tasted fine though....we each had 2 drinks which came to more than the food!!! So not such good value on the drinks!! .....kids went to shop for sweets after as they didn't feel full!! ....

We hadn't booked and the food was tasty , served quickly and reasonably priced. Extremely child friendly - was very impressed by the changing unit which was spotless and even had nappies.

We stayed here for one night after a very wet bank holiday walk. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, letting us store our bags and providing advice on trains. The room was great, as was the whirlpool bath, and the food in the evening was excellent - the chef even gave us the recipe for his amazing salted caramel ice-cream!
