A must-visit after sunset; the colourfully lit fountains lend a magical feel to the place. Crowds can be heavy, though.

On the way to Brindavan Gardens, a small detour off the main road lies the water gates of KRS Dam. The recent monsoons have filled the dam to its capacity & the released water through the gates creates a powerful, mesmerizing and magnificent waterfall that, I would say is truly worth visiting. Due to the natural curve of the outgoing water and few large sized rocks on the path of this raging foaming water, a misty spray bathes everyone.
It is a sight to behold and highly recommended, specially in the monsoon.

I visited KRS Dam during the Independence day holiday. I have been to this place many many times as i used to visit this place a lot during my school days. The dam still looks as majestic as it used be earlier.

After the last year's failed monsoon the dam had reached its dead storage levels. It was painful to see the pictures of the dam in the newspaper without water. But this year, due to the super success of monsoon, the dam is full (reached its full capacity).

The dam is huge, long and you can see vast storage of water, cool breeze...

Its the right to visit with family or friends or alone...................

I visited this dam recently with my family to watch the water flow.It was amazing to watch the flow.Ihave watched the water flow several times bue each time you enjoy more and more.It is a real fun to get drenched in water spray that comes from the flow. You watch, watch and will never comeout and roaring sound of water flow lingering.A must visit in rainy season.About 25km from mysore and plan for a days visit from bangalore. One information for walking across dam you have to take special permission.

Visited this place once when I went to Goa trip with my friends. We visited Mysore before going to Goa. It was at that time I saw this dam.

I remember the dam was pretty well organized, and the "Musical Fountain" show at night is pretty awesome. Kids will have a very good time here.
