Sally and Steve have created the perfect haven a mile or so out of Skipton giving access to the Dales. We have just returned from a four day break which was a delight. They even managed to arrange sunny weather!
The bedroom was bright and overlooked a pleasant garden set against a backdrop of hills, which set the scene for a relaxing stay. The breakfasts were wonderful, and there was a good amount of options to suit most tastes. What stands out though is this couples friendly and bright relationship with their guests.
This was a return visit and it will certainly not be the last.

Room Tip: Sunflower would be my choice

This is simply the best b&b we have ever stayed in. Great attention to detail and thought has been given to make a stay as enjoyable as possible. It is really designed around the guests' needs and Sally and Steve are perfect hosts. I should also add that the breakfasts are fabulous and the freshly cooked pancakes were extra special

The previous reviews have really said it all, and there is nothing I would disagree with. At the risk of being accused of repetition, Steve and Sally are perfect hosts - hospitable, friendly and accommodating - our room was comfortable, the facilities all you could need, and the breakfast well cooked and more-or-less whatever you want (plus a few less usual inventive options on the menu). There’s a village pub just up the road that serves food, and the bus stop by the pub for the hourly bus for the short ride into Skipton if you want to avoid the inconvenience of driving and finding a place to park. If, like us, you are silver-haired enough to have a bus pass this is an added advantage, but if you are younger and fitter then it is not too far to walk into Skipton.

All in all it’s a great place to stay in every respect, as the constantly high ratings confirm

This was a lucky find - it was one of the best b&b experiences we've had. Sally & Steve have clearly put much thought and consideration into the layout, decoration and detailed touches to Poppy Cottage. It feels as though you have the space and comforts of a self-catering holiday home, yet a delicious breakfast made for you each morning. Everything was very clean and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights after our wedding. Sally and Steve were amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was excellent, clean and comfortable and the whole cottage has a real homely feel with the highest standard of finishing touches. The breakfast was second to none with plenty of choice and all home made. A massive thanks for making us feel so welcome and looking after us so well.

We booked two rooms at Poppy Cottage one for ourselves and one for our children - it was great in every way. Steve and Sally are the perfect hosts and the rooms are fantastic quality (i particularly liked the thick dressing gown I could wrap up in)! We were able to watch the children enjoy playing with the hens and playing on the swings in the garden, they will remember poppy cottage just like I remember going to places when I was a child - just so exciting! Breakfast was second to none - a real treat.....I'm glad we found poppy cottage and will definitely return.
