“B & B Extraordinaire!!!”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

We are a family of four who stayed in this beautiful bed and breakfast. They have a separate apartment which we stayed in, complete with kitchen, that we were able to use when we did not want to eat out. There is also a washing machine available in the bathroom. (and diana had washing supplies available for use)There is a grocery store with an excellent deli and fabulous fresh bread (go early in day to get it!) approx 1 klm away and a pizza restuarant in the other direction within walking distance (when not raining!) that was absolutely delicious! Reasonalbly priced and the pizza was so big you can take half back with you. You are also a 5-10 min drive to the train station with free parking that you can take to venice or bassano (where the best grappa is made!) Diana and her family are wonderful, friendly people who provide a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. There's plenty of parking available. There was always enough hot water for the four of us taking showers each day. The two rooms (bedroom/kitchen) areas are spacious and clean, with beautiful tiling in the bathroom, and custom wood ceilings in the bedroom. The breakfast is typical of breakfasts in the b&b's we stayed at in italy, fresh and sufficient to start your day. We used the grocery store to buy supplies for sandwiches, fruit, etc. which we packed up to eat on the days we took the train to Venice. This saved us money, which we used to enjoy dinners out. Diana also has a room in her house available. We will be coming back again with extra family and look forward to staying here. Great value for the money! We were able to have a relaxing time because the place was extraordinaire!!!

Room Tip: we rented the "apartment" which was perfect!

Casa Diana is a GREAT place to stay to see Venice and the surrounding area! It is the largest apartment at which we have stayed in Europe to this point. A large kitchen area with a refrigerator, freezer, gas stove/oven, and utensils and plates. She supplied the room with bottled water and plenty of coffee as well. The bathroom was large, with a nice shower, plenty of hot water, and a washing machine. The bedroom had a very large bed (king sized) in the separate bedroom, with a dresser, shrunk, and plenty of storage space. The main room (kitchen area) had two single beds for kids (stacked type; one slides under the other for storage), a large dining room table and a loveseat, and flat screen TV with many satellite stations. Lots of space and very comfortable!

It is a very safe area (to include parking). You are a 25 min drive to Venice, but I recommend driving the 5 mins to the Salzano train station (free parking) and taking the 3 Euro train into Venice in the same amount of time. Diana and her husband printed us out the train schedule to and from Venice as well.

The first time you go, the apartment can be difficult to find. Set your GPS to the address given. When you get to the road, look for the "man in a crane" by/above the road advertising on your right and turn just past it. If you get to the Restaurant/pizzeria Baldi then you have gone just a little too far.

The entire apartment is very new, extremely nice, and most comfortable. I would highly recommend anyone driving to the area to stay there--or avoid the overpriced hotels in Venice and take the train out to Salzano and stay with Diana!

Those staying here should realize a few things--not negatives, just things of which to be aware. She serves breakfast, but not a full American or typical European breakfast. It consists of toast, jams, and breads and sweets. She serves very good, hot coffee, juices, and has hot and cold milk. You need to pay upon arrival in cash. She speaks more English than we spoke Italian, but neither of them are fluent in English. We were able to communicate adequately, and we learned from each other!
