Beautiful boat (CONDOR), 2 couples and we had an en-suite each so made is nice and provate. Don't expect much from the Wifi, but then with the mountains what can you expect. It was a lovely week away and having arrived on Saturday we felt by Tuesday that we'd been away a week. It's so relaxng being on a boat.only 6 locks if you choose to go that route and we did, didn't take long though and there are some volunteers alaong the way to help. Fantastic attention to detail in the cleanliness and presentation of the boats. Brecon Boats really do have it all, Tea/coffee and flapjacks on arrival. Would definately use them again.
We spent monday to friday on Kite with good friends and a lovely relaxing week enjoying the beautiful autumn colour and wildlife. We sampled lovely meals at canal side pubs each evening and as canal boat novices enjoyed learning how to operate the locks. We were so impressed with the way the holiday was organised, sending lots of information prior to the holiday with suggestions for activities and routes which was very helpful.
The boat was beautifully presented with lots of clever storage, fresh flowers and complimentary toiletries. Alot of thought had gone into the facilities provided. We would certainly recommend Beacon Park boats to our friends and would love to book another holiday.
My husband left a pair of shoes behind and they posted them to us free of charge. Excellent service!
We've been on lots of canal boat holidays and this was probably the best. Excellent boat - not the cheapest but another boater told us they're the best on the canal and we couldn't disagree. A beautiful canal, we went lock free for the week so used the quieter bits of the canal. So quiet in fact, we were kept awake by a barn owl one night. Plenty of other stuff to do like explore Abergavenny and Crickhowell, walking in the hills etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the base. We might go back just for the homemade flapjack. An absolutely fabulous holiday.
We found Beacon Park Boats staff very helpful. The boats are well looked after.
Dog friendly. There was everything you wanted on the boats and more - couldn't
fault a thing. We had a lovely holiday in Wales. You can moor up and enjoy the
village pubs and country walks. Everyone was friendly. We would definitely
use them again. Brilliant !
We have just returned from our second holiday with Beacon Park Boats after the outstanding experience we had last year. I am pleased to say that the same incredibly high standard of service was in evidence and the whole operation runs like a perfectly oiled machine.
The booking process is simple via the company's lovely web site, any questions are quickly and fully answered, arrival at the wharf is welcoming with coffee and pastries, boat handover is comprehensive and the quality of the boats and their beautiful interiors is second to none.
This year we sailed on Puffin, one of the wider boats, which gave us and our dog plenty of room and despite the weather not being at its best with a fair amount of rain and wind, we had a great time. The scenery was as ever spectacular and we enjoyed it so much that we have booked Puffin again for the third year in a row next June.
Whether you are planning your first narrowboat holiday or are a regular on the canals, you will not find a company anywhere that can provide the level of service offered by Sarah and Alasdair at Beacon Park Boats.
We had four wonderful days gliding along the beautiful Brecon Canal. Whether you were steering the boat or relaxing in the covered area at the bow you enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside. Couple this with the novelty of working the locks, negotiating the bridges and passing other boats you had a great recipe for a memorable holiday. All the staff at Beacon Park boats made us welcome and as novices gave us good instructions for handling the boat confidently. The boat itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped.
We were very impressed by Beacon Park Boats - and we are ourselves canal boat owners so we know what standards to expect. Our boat was one of the older in their fleet, but was still immaculate, very well equipped and went well. The hand-over was superbly efficient at their large new base, everything very structured and organised, but the staff still made time to chat and make us very welcome.
The Mon and Brec is a lovely canal, wonderful views and some good stopping places. It is shallow so progress can be slow, but it's still easy to do the whole canal in a week.
