Another wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The hotel was extremely busy but this made no difference to the excellent standard of service provided by Shaun and his staff. We had lunch and evening meal, both of which were beautifully presented. Just wish I could move in permanently and eat here every day! The room was stunning with views across the golf course to the countryside beyond. Breakfast was delicious, they obviously use the best quality ingredients. Can't wait to go again. And again and again!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 15 which is a suite and you have to climb a few flights to get there but boy is it worth it.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel I felt we'd come to somewhere special. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and obliging. The quality of the food was superb, and there was plenty of it. Our room was immaculate, with the most comfortable bed, and stunning scenery to wake up to. To sum up our stay, it was akin to staying at your best friend's house. The staff wanted us to be there and we left feeling nurtured and cared for. Thank you for such a welcoming stay.

Above the door into the bar is a sign that reads 'welcome to our home'.
This sentiment resonates throughout the hotel, dining room and indeed your stay.
We were made so welcome and comfortable it really felt like we were coming home.
The standard of the rooms and food was quite exceptional.
The 9 hole golf course was great fun!

I was staying as part of a large (about 30) group of walkers.
We had a very comfortable stay midweek for 4 nights. Excellent food and excellent service from this family run hotel.
Lots to see and do in the surrounding area if the weather is not good for walking (we had high winds).
Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so pleasant.

Lots of good points here but also disappointing in some respects. Food great but service sometimes inexplicably slow. No marmalade or brown bread at breakfast seems odd for a hotel of this quality. Friendly, accommodating staff who sometimes failed to deliver what they offered; the invitation to request a newspaper was nice but the paper did not materialise and there was neither explanation nor apology. Big bowl of complimentary fruit in reception but never any receptionist! The biggest disappointment was the room; the tiniest we've ever stayed in, barely big enough for the bed and impossible for us both to move around in at the same time. A huge shower cubicle but a tiny hand basin and no hooks in the bathroom. When the lights fused we were told it was "no problem". It felt like one to us.
Does the management ever look around from a guest's point of view?

Room Tip: Definitely ask about the size and location. Ours overlooked the car park and was on the ground floor so we had to keep our blinds closed.
