This is a wonderful B&B. One of the rooms - the one we stayed in - it's actually a little miniature house made out of a converted dovecote; it has a kitchen and shower downstairs and a large bedroom upstairs full of the alcoves where doves used to nest. The B&B has an incredible garden and beautiful views. The owners greeted us with orange juice and cookies and were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts in the morning were fab.
The nearby village, Humshaugh, is like an idealised model village. We had dinner in the local pub, the Crown, which was excellent.
This was an absolutely perfect stay. Highly recommended. We stayed here while doing the Hadrian's Wall Walk and it was a great place to recharge after a long day's walking. But the dovecote would be a wonderful base for a longer stay.
