“Good Walk, Great Views, Very Steep”
Reviewed 26 June 2014 via mobile

Went for a wander around the Falls whilst stopping in the village. Some great views although some areas bit overgrown meaning view of the valley was obscured. Information leaflet you can buy is very informative and the falls are definitely worth seeing.

“be prepared for a sting in the tail”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Having made the effort to visit the attraction ensure you have 40 mins minimum to enjoy the walk. although plenty of hand rails and other safety features you still get a feeling of being in a true "wild untamed gorge" excellent views of the falls, even in the height of summer when you would expect the flow into the gorge to be at it lowest, a hard climb up from the bottom, so enjoy having a rest at the various viewing points on the way up, If you suffer from vertigo give this a miss, Think twice about doing the walk in wet weather. But for those who do complete the walk you do get a real sense of achievement. In summary pace yourself
and enjoy the views at every opportunity.

Hi Ian. Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Waterfalls walk. 40 minutes is definitely recommended if not longer if you want to just sit and enjoy the scenery from the viewing gazebo. I agree it is hard going on the way up but as you say if you do it at your own pace it is not so bad.

“beautiful place visited by rail!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

went up on the vale of rheidol railway and planned it so we had an hour or 2 to walk 100m down the road to the waterfalls, very lovely setting, LOTS of steps down, but you can see from the top, wouldn't do a whole day by themselves, but if you use the railway , makes a great trip. lots of lovely walks in the area too :)

“Choices choices”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

We opted to take the longer route at £3.75. The attendant was in his booth reading his newspaper. He asked if we wanted a map guide for 50p. Yes, we'll have one. His directions then were to go through the turnstile and then left for the bridge and then double-back for the waterfall. He then returned to his newspaper.

Through the turnstile, down the path and left we went. The viewpoint is a close 45 degree angle of the bridge. There is no where to take in the bridge at a more appreciable angle or distance. Well, there is but not on the longer walk. We doubled back and took the route which takes in the waterfall and that was good. Enough has been said about the steps and you are forewarned. But take it steady and it's worth it. Finishing the walk and heading back to the free car park (bonus) via the bridge we noticed that, if you look down over the right side of the bridge you gain a sense of what paying the extra £1 gets you. It's the appreciable distance to view the bridge. So, choices choices.

I am sorry that the attendant was reading the newspaper and not giving you his full attention. The view of the 3 bridges from the Waterfalls side is at an angle but there is no way we can change this. That is why we keep the entrance fee to the other viewing point across the road to a minimum so that you can really get a good look at the remarkable architectural design. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feed back and review.

“spectacular”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

this is one of the most spectacular places you will visit in Wales the climb up and down the falls is steep and breathtaking in both respects, but then again we are in our sixties, young bloods will not find it so hard and it is well worth the effort. Go down both sides of the bridge £1 down 1 side £3 down the other Best £4 you will spend in a day !! take your camera you will want to remember it !
