This is a beautiful location and the Royal Oak provides a first class meal stop. The staff are wonderful, friendly and the menu has something for everyone. The quality of the food is excellent - I wish I had got room for a dessert. I'm very lucky, I only live a short distance from there so will be back again and again.

Stayed in Bangor on Dee and were recommended the Royal Oak by friends in Whitchurch. When booking the lady was extremely pleasant and helpful and as there was only one person working I presume it was her. There were a couple of minor things like meats being slightly over and blue sauce a bit thin - less cream? But with a waitress like that who cares!!! Puddings were fantastic too. Wrexham Lager was a good recommendation too! Great food can often be let down by service but the service made our night. Think I may have heard someone call her Meg but not sure?? 6 May

This place has a real log fire, very friendly staff, and we had a wonderful meal there. There is plenty of parking space outside and a nice walk around Bangor On Dee or along the River Dee.
We returned from our walk for hot chocolate and coffee. Very clean and cosy place.

Went for a family Sunday lunch and it was excellent. Really nice food and very good service. Lots off choice from the normal menu and from the specials menu. I had the black pudding and chorizo salad and it was very good. Our group had the Sunday roast, beef and pork, and the chicken and no complaints from anybody. Deserts were good too.
