“Lovely warm and spacious house perfect for a winter family get together”
Reviewed 27 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

The house is well furnished and decorated with many individual touches. Each bedroom has a good en suite bathroom. Underfloor heating provides an excellent level of heat even in chilly January and there is plenty of wood provided for the wood burner if needed. It is situated in a quiet rural location with easy access to the coast. We particularly enjoyed Little Haven, Broad Haven and Druidstone and walking the stunning coastal path. This was my 2nd visit to the Old Cow Shed and will not be my last. The owners live nearby and are friendly and helpful

Thank you so much for your review and it was delightful to see you and your family and your gorgous boxer having such a good time. Thank you also for advising by email that the system denied you access to give a 5* star review which you would have done but the Trip Adviser system frustrated your efforts! We do look forward to seeing you again and Storm in particular looks forward to renewing his cannine friendship!

My partner and I went back to the Old Cowshed again after we had such a magical time there last December. We love absolutely everything about the Cowshed and hope to come back again and again.

“The most cosy Christmas break!”
Reviewed 4 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

The location is superb. We visited a lot of places during our stay, Marloes, Dale, Little Have, Broad Haven, Solva. My main reason for booking in this area was to visit the Druidstone hotel which I stayed at almost ten years ago with the Princes Trust. I have to say, the place was exactly the same and hadn't lost it's charm and quirkiness, I even had the chance to speak to some of the same staff there and the soup was delicious , just what you needed on a cold December day! I also wanted to go and visit St David's cathedral which again didn't disappoint, I must have taken thousands of photo's and the best bit was to get back home and get cosy in front of the fire at The Old Cowshed, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing picturesque break with family and friends and hopefully will return soon. Thank you Barbara and Hugh for accommodating us and the wine and chocolates were a welcome surprise too.

“Truly beautiful”
Reviewed 20 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

This place is a real gem tucked away in the countryside around the village of Dale in Pembrokeshire. Beautifully appointed, clean and very comfortable, this is one of the best holiday rentals we have had the pleasure of staying in. Amazing log burner, comfortable leather couches, fully equipped kitchen....whatever the weather we were warm and comfortable.
Will definitely be looking into a booking during the better weather next summer

“The ideal base for a Pembrokeshire holiday ' Peace at last'”
Reviewed 26 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Having had a 'taster' of the old Cowshed in February while the weather was a little damp (see earlier review), our visit in late August rewarded us with some beautiful sunshine and opportunities to take in the undoubted beauty of this part of the world.
The Old Cowshed itself provides the best accommodation we have used during our numerous visits to the area. The setting is peaceful, with ample parking and a great garden for games, the garden was secure so allowed 'Charlie' our border collie to roam without any problems, he and 'Storm' became good friends during the visit (see attached photographs).

The cottage itself is exceptionally well presented with a distinct feeling of home which relaxes you from the minute you walk through the door. This is all thanks to the attention to detail by Barbara and Hugh. From the bottle of prosecco and chocolates waiting within, to the myriad of sofas scattered throughout the cottage, the ornaments, lamps, throws and cushions etc all add to the home from home feeling throughout. (This attention to detail is often missing from most other holiday lets)
The three bedrooms have comfortable beds and the coordinated decor continues in these areas.
Three en-suite bathrooms avoid conflict when the 4 ladies were getting ready for the days out.
A well equipped kitchen/diner with a door directly onto the garden provide a good social gathering area when preparing the evening meals and having breakfast.
The 'boot room' provides the ideal staging point on your return from the local beaches/walks and avoids trampling sand into the cottage and keeps the beach toys and chairs etc in one area, while the shower room provides the facilities to wash the sand from the dog .

The living room has plenty of seating for the whole family to either watch the TV/DVD or play board games. It also has a log burning stove which in the winter months makes the cottage very cosy.

Our favourite beaches of Newgale, Barafundle, Freshwater West and a new addition of Marloes were all visited during the week and are all within an easy car drive of the cottage. (Don't forget the change for toll across the Cleddau bridge)

Supermarket shopping for supplies are within relatively easy reach with Tescos at Milford Haven and Haverfordwest.

Unfortunately our only dates for summer holiday next year are already booked (Boo !!) so hope to fit in a long weekend earlier in the year to get our 'Cowshed' fix

“Peaceful, tranquil and luxurious.”
Reviewed 15 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The Old Cow Shed is a perfect retreat for a holiday and we would thoroughly recommend it. We were of mixed ages and there was something for all of us TV, wifi, comfy settees for reading all of an excellent standard. All home comforts and mod cons, provisions and consumables which, so often you have to bring were provided by the lovely friendly owners. We really enjoyed staying here and it was a great base from which to travel out and explore some of the Pembrokeshire National Park loved St David's , Marloes Sands, Tenby, Stackpole. There were plenty of places locally to go out to to eat, we particularly enjoyed Griffin at Dale as well as The Castle in Little Haven.

“Peace & quiet....& dogs too!”
Reviewed 22 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We spent a lovely few days at The Old Cowshed. Booking was easy. Information pack sent through was comprehensive and helpful (though be warned, if coming from Haverfordwest direction, it's easy to miss turning for Butterhill). The accommodation is very very spacious, with loads of sofas, well stocked kitchen. Loved the en-suites and beds were really comfy. As it's a little off the beaten track, the reward is peace and quiet, lots of bird song to wake up to. Barbara and Hugh were friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Their two dogs were great characters. Pembrokeshire is a beautiful area. Weather could have been better on the day we visited Skomer.... but the thought of seeing such a lovely island in sunshine, instead of rain, gives us a good reason to return.

We were so sorry the weather was not good for you. Generally, guests can nearly always expect some fine dry days and then you could really have properly seen pembrokeshire in all
It's glory! Please do return again when hopefully your will have much much nicer weather. But thank you for the lovely kind review!
