Truro Lodge is an incredible gem - I returned from living abroad and was only booked in for 3 days, but found everything so amazingly like home that I ended up staying 2 months+ - from the great rooms to the fabulous kitchen, Rob and Moyra have really put their stamp on an incredibly good value for money town centre home from home. Whilst trying to sort out health issues and general problems resettling in the UK, Rob and Moyra gave me an unbelievable amount of support and friendship - even inviting me to celebrate Christmas with them, their friends and family - amazingly good food, lots of laughs and a great time for my first Christmas in the UK for decades. I cannot do any more than recommend that. If you are going to Truro, make this your first choice!

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and well furnished - seek advice from Rob and Moyra about best for your own circ...

Stayed here for 1 night while on a road trip through the south west. Having full use of the kitchen whenever you wanted was perfect if you come back late and wanted to cook food. Rooms were nice and the bathrooms were huge. Extremely close to town which cost about £3 in a taxi if you can't be bothered to walk. The owner was more than happy to help us know about Truro and where to go for whatever It was that we wanted - food, drink whatever. I would defiantly go back.

Stayed at Truro Lodge during half term week in February ( 6 nights) with my husband, 10 year old daughter and an active 15 month old boy! The owners Rob and Moyra were really friendly and welcoming and their easy going manner soon rubbed off on this stressed out mum... They are as lovely & delightful as the lodge and were a great help on places to visit in Cornwall and local advice. The Lodge: Wow! What a place....it oozes charm, character and has a warm cozy feel to it with a quirky antiquey twist! Simply done but so right.....didnt want to go back home to Essex. The rooms are spacious and clean and there are two HUGE bathrooms with showers - so you don't mind not having an en suite. The kitchen is a lovely old fashioned room with an Aga and you could cook your evening meal if you wanted to. Breakfast is a help yourself affair, cereals and toast and a friendly chat with Rob/Moyra and suited our needs. Ideally situated too, a 5 min flat walk to the town centre. Home from home. Would go back there tomorrow!

Can't rate it on a scale of 1-5 because it doesn't really fit in. Very much a Homestay rather than a hotel or B&B. I had only a very fleeting overnight so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but..friendly hosts (don't know if they have "staff", but suspect not), free WiFi, and TARDIS like spacious house. Slightly off putting was the lack of stair carpets, and in 2013 the shared (huge) bathroom (not communal by the way!) because these days we expect en suite. At the moment (Jan 2013) felt as though it was rather "under development", and (although perhaps this is not the aim) has the capacity in due course to become a "boutique hotel". So, if you're thinking of staying here do take account of what people say and don't complain afterwards. Don't come here expecting the Alverton Manor or a Travelodge; take it (or leave it) on it's own terms. P.S. my ratings for swimming pool and fitness centre are tongue in cheek!

We were visiting our son who is studying locally and Truro Lodge was the perfect place to stay for this purpose. We loved the informality, and Rob and Moyra were both very welcoming. They also allowed us to make a home cooked meal for our son, which he really appreciated. This was not a B & B in the traditional sense, but a much more relaxed arrangement with breakfast being shared around the kitchen table. If you like things informal then you will return to Truro Lodge time and time again....I know we will!

"Staying at Rob and Moyra's house" basically sums up what happens when you book in at the Truro Lodge. I had a Xmas works do and it was cheaper to stay the night than get a taxi back home to St Agnes. What a great choice I made. Instead of getting ripped off by some grumpy taxi driver I was made to feel at home from the moment I arrived until i'd finished helping myself to breakfast in the lovely kitchen. Great value, loads of character, great location and very welcoming.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we chose Truro Lodge for 2 nights whilst exploring Cornwall. Anyone who has travelled will know a great value place when they find it and this is one of them! Run by a lovely couple who provided local information the house is typically British whilst also being functionally sound. Nice size room with TV and clean bedding, great shower and large bathrooms (2 to choose from), old style kitchen with all equipment needed and a free start up breakfast thrown in. Only downside is the lack of parking, but all guests seemed to manage and helped each other out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend, especially for the £'s..Many thanks
