I could not fault anything, friendly owner and staff who made me feel very welcome.
Fantastic garden and tea room, the bedroom was as good as anything I have ever stayed in.
Although my visit was a business trip my next stay will be with my wife.

The whole house is beautiful.Lovely views from the windows of the old church, gardens and river. The owner was charming and welcoming, and the breakfast was superb.,with delightful welcoming staff serving. I would definitely come back, and thoroughly recommend the Old Vicarage.

We stayed at the Old Vicarage for a couple of nights after our wedding for a 'minimoon' (not being able to afford a full honeymoon immediately after the big day). The one thing we really wanted was somewhere romantic and relaxing. The Old Vicarage fulfilled the first requirement, but unfortunately we found our stay far from relaxing.

Firstly to explain the one star review - for all of the good points of this B&B (and there were many) we simply found our bedroom to be far, far too hot and at night unbearable. By hot we don't mean a little warm, but actually unpleasantly hot. This meant that it was almost impossible to sleep in the room - a major failing for any B&B or hotel! The thermostat display in the room constantly read anywhere between 23 and 26 degrees, even with all of the windows open and at one in the morning.

We did ask if the heating could be turned off, but the owners insisted there was in fact no heating on in the rooms and the temperature was solely a result of their "excellent insulation". We still can't understand how this could be so, when it was only in the mid-teens outside, but more than 10 degrees warmer indoors!

If it wasn't for the temperature in the room (and the resulting lack of sleep), we'd have no hesitation in awarding the Old Vicarage a much higher rating. The setting was idyllic, the breakfast tasty, the rooms well appointed, the bathroom luxurious - it really should have been a delight, which made our special stay even more disappointing. We really are very sad to only give a one star review, but unfortunately the unbearably hot room really did ruin our stay.

Had a very relaxing one night stay in Bedroom 2. Such a beautiful place in a tranquil location. The rooms were perfect, tastefully decorated and the views were stunning. There was a private balcony/terrace with Bedroom 2 - sadly we didn't have the weather to sit out!
Luxurious beds, lovely toiletries, great breakfast and a cream tea on arrival - what's not to like!
It was only a 5-10 minute drive into Truro and in the evening we had a taxi each way which cost approx £7-8 each way.
Customer service was great and we were made to feel very welcome. Will definitely return for longer! Really couldn't fault it!

A week watching a family of eleven ducklings maturing as they paraded back and forth in front of the breakfast room, whilst the tide in the estuary ebbed and flowed in front of the bedroom window. Hearty breakfasts and an idyllic location. Luxury, attention to detail and don't be fooled by the website that says 'double beds', they are enormous. One quirk, a bidet but not a shaver socket ?? We won't say which bedroom we stayed in, we will want it free for when we go again.

I stayed for one night at the Old Vicarage as I was in Truro on business. The idyllic location, characterful house and warm welcome were very relaxing after a tough day. Breakfast was faultless, I hope to return for a greater length of time as a tourist.

Room Tip: A room with a view of the river is the thing to ask for.

First impressions: stunning, quiet location close to town centre

Marilyn was welcoming and helpful, the room was luxurious with beautiful views across the river fal. Staying here felt more like a boutique hotel than a b&b, white company toiletries and luxury bathroom/bedding. Very peaceful nights stay and free wifi a bonus.
Breakfast was local, organic produce perfectly cooked and lots of choice.

Bad points: none! Looking forward to staying again
