“Beautiful hotel...but poor breakfast...”

The bulding is good, rooms are comfirtable and service is also good and fast. 99 £ for a night with gated parking included, but if You like ENGLISH BREAKFAST DO YOU HAVE TO PAY AROUND £8!!! The continental breakfast is barely enoungh; call waiters everytime do you need more btead, coffe...is not a good point to have a quiet breakfast in the morning.

Great location if you literally want to be in the centre of town. Really lovey staff. I found the bed to be a little small and uncomfortable, however it was fine. Breakfast was suitable and nice. The signage leading up to the hotel could be better, we drove past it the first time, and you have to do a loop around the town to get back, but its a shortish loop!

Mannings is a great little hotel right in the middle of town. My overall rating is really based on the category of hotel this is. For a lower priced property, in a remote town with few options, this is a really good choice.

I travel to Truro for work, and the location is walking distance from my office in town. It's clean, pretty stylish, friendly without being overbearing. The restaurant is good as well. Continental breakfast, which is included in the rate, is nice, though the choices aren't as diverse as you'd get, well, at your nicer hotels on the continent. But it's fresh.

Not much to do in Truro town itself. Some very good restaurants. As I write this, I'm here in the hotel on a Friday night due to some late meetings I had. Everything is pretty much closed down and it's only 7pm.

The only complaint is that there's no fitness center at the hotel. Nor do they have any partnerships or relationships with any nearby gyms. There's a great health club very closeby (TR1 Fitness) that charges only 5 quid for a day pass.

Room Tip: Try not to get the top floor. Lots and lots of steps and no elevator.

I know it's hardly the fault of the hotel, but the noise from the seagulls is deafening! Add to that the fact that we've just spent 3 days in a very small room at the front of the hotel, which meant road noise from the cobbles teamed with the normal rowdiness from people spilling out of the local hostelries and I would have to vote this the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in.

I'm really not sure where the description of 'modern' hotel comes from, other than the bar area. We travelled with a large party (20+), our room was small although clean but I had to use both hands to turn on the cold water tap (why no mixers?), others had water leaks in their room & one couple checked in to be greeted with the sight of dried vomit around the toilet pan!!

We can't comment on the food, other than an adequate breakfast, because we were never able to eat in the woefully undersized restaurant. There were barely enough tables for breakfast & if all the residents were there at the same time, they certainly wouldn't all be seated. We were told we should have booked well in advance for the Saturday but, given that some had to travel 6 hours to get there, arrival times were always going to be flexible. I've done a lot of travelling in the UK & I think this is the first time we've not been able to eat in the hotel on any of the 3 evenings of our stay.

Sorry Mannings, you may be in a prime location but you have an awful lot to learn about hospitality.

We had a lovely meal during a very busy pre-theatre visit. Our large party were served promptly and personal choices were taken into consideration by the waitress who was happy to ask the kitchen. The fish dishes were fresh and tasty, but the sirloin sizzlers didn't go down too well at our table, too much cheese perhaps...but the remainder of the dishes all looked appetizing and were served fairly quickly. The decor is clean and modern with a small bar area for pre/post dinner drinks if you can grab a table quickly! Staff at the bar, front of house and waitresses all extremely smart, helpful and polite. Will definitely return.

The location could not be better and the quality of service, is of a high standard. Breakfasts are continental and more than adequate with cooked items as an extra.
We dined in on a couple of occasions and the food was great with a good range of wines at sensible prices.
We happened to be there during the July heat wave and our room was intolerably hot needing the loan of two powerful fans to get any sleep. Only a few rooms have aircon and this is an issue the hotel must address - otherwise a perfect stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at higher levels have air con but no lift !!
