An hour well spent at the Welwyn Roman Baths. What a pleasant place to visit; definitely eye opening. Maybe its just me but to be so close to the exhibit was really exciting; I felt so part of it. The surround of the exhibit was good too with so much to read and see. There was even a video you could watch. Very educational indeed. There was also a skeleton of a woman found at the site apparently… a simple place but very very intriguing. Lots of parking available too. And entry was only £3.50 each adult. Unfortunately no cafe but there was a lovely garden outside that you could sit and perhaps bring your own picnic too (better check first though).
The lady (probably a volunteer) at the entrance was very sweet, charming and very knowledgeable. She gave us a quick brief about the bath on display. Thank you so much for that.
Frankly, the drive to get there was lovely too … its a lovely part of Hertfordshire. Well worth a pop in.
Be aware though it is only open from 2pm to 5pm on weekends only. Exceptions during school holidays.

We spent a great hour or two in the steps of our Roman ancestors at this historic site It's highly educational and informative and well worth a visit. Just a couple f minutes from the motorway which runs over the top.

This is by and far away one of the best exhibits I have ever been to. Whilst being small, they have made the most of the space they have and really made the place and time come alive. There is something for all ages. We played the roman game with the stones. I was fascinated by the herb information. The replicas of the bath tools meant we could all try them out. Loed the gladiator helmet and shield which gave a sense to all of their size and weight. This is a real gem of an attraction. Thank goodness this has been saved for future generations.

Tucked away under the A1(M) you'll find this little gem. I have driven past so many times and it's only taken me over 30 years to finally get there. It's worth visiting if you are local or passing by. I wouldn't suggest it as a day out unless incorporating with other activities.

It is very interesting and well presented, we spent over an hour there, although small it has interesting information to read and digest. Very thoughtfully laid out with lots of hands on bits and pieces for children to try and do. On a rainy weekend this would be a nice way to entertain the children and get them away from electronic devices.
