The owner Nigel came and collected us promptly from the train station at no extra charge. During our stay he made us feel very welcome. The room I stayed in was absolutely immaculate and possibly the biggest and most comfortable queen size bed I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. The en suite bathroom had a beautiful free standing bath and walk-in shower. Apart from Nigel, the biggest highlight of our stay was his dog Max. I can't recommend this place enough.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in oaklands manor, the house is very clean and top standard. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the lovely walks in the woods nearby and pleasant snacks on the terrace.

We enjoyed staying in this guesthouse . All the facilities are new and of highest quality . The bedroom is very nice and generous size . The owner Nigel is friendly and helpful . There is a lovely dog . The general feeling of being special guests in a warm home treated with utmost hospitality . A lovely garden and a hot tub are a memorable spa experience .

A quiet and very friendly place! The owner is very helpful and will make sure you have everything you need, and more. Bedroom very clean, luxurious and nicely decorated. I definitely recommend this place to stay and rest, that will moreover offer you a copious breakfast!

Pot-holed shingle track access, an awkward reception at arrival, copious dust on most facilities, and malfunctioning shower, offset the well appointed large modern and warm bedroom offered by the hosts as part of a family home. Met the owner during breakfast (generous helpings) and pointed out our issues, which he undertook to address. Relatively expensive accommodation which promised more than delivered.

There are ample "factory hotels" in the Welwyn area and relatively lower cost than Oaklands Manor. However the plus side gives you an outstanding large bedroom with all the comforts you could wish for that have been impeccably remodelled. Unfortunately, it was too cold to enjoy the magnificent, peaceful garden. Liberal parking was provided.
The owners were charming and helpful and I much enjoyed the company of their rather elderly, but friendly Alsation dog.
Breakfast was a treat and I wish I had the appetite to do credit to the generous choice available.
In short, if you seek some peace and quiet amidst a very busy area, this is a perfect choice.

Booked as we were going to see Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Knebworth. Complete luxury - we had our own private bathroom, complete with free-standing ball and claw footed bath tub! The bedroom was just gorgeous - calm, peaceful, very very spacious, spotlessly clean, and very high quality. The whole house is just lovely, very luxurious, wonderful air of peace and calm. Breakfast is served in a fabulously big room stretching the width of the house, with two sets of patio doors out to the lovely garden. One half of this room has a beautiful dining table, the other half has two huge sofas and a big flat screen tv; there's also a wood-burning stove. Everything is of fab quality, modern yet tasteful and relaxed. It honestly couldn't have been better, and far exceeded our expectations. Not so much a B&B, more of a luxury boutique place to stay. The owner, Nigel, is quietly hospitable - nothng is too much trouble, he even made us a coffee at 1.30am when we returned from the concert looking like a couple of drowned rats! He's completely non-intrusive, but there if you need anything - lovely, lovely chap. We booked this place as just somewhere to sleep - but honestly, it's worth staying just for a small slice of completely luxurious peace and quiet. We'll definitely visit again, probably just as a get-away - can't recommend highly enough.

Room Tip: Just book it - all the rooms are gorgeous!
