“Beautiful resort”
Reviewed 22 May 2014 via mobile

Enjoyed a 5 night stay here, rooms spacious with nice outdoor area. We had a room overlooking the gardens which was nice and quiet. Pools and grounds are well kept. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Ate at all the restaurants, favourite was the beach side restaurant, great to have lunch overlooking he ocean. The only negative thing is there is no shaded areas at the pool and no umbrellas. You can hire a cabana but it's $50, it seems a bit expensive just to be shaded from the sun!

First time in Maui and I'm glad we picked this hotel. Having stayed at other Ritz-Carltons, I knew what to expect and I wasn't disappointed. I booked an ocean view room which had a perfect view of the pool and a good ocean view from the balcony. I was offered an upgrade to an ocean front room for an additional $400/night, I checked it out but I preferred my view. The grounds were very well kept, the service was impeccable, the two restaurants we tried were top notch, I could find nothing wrong with this place. We had initally tried the Grand Wailea in Kihei but it was fully booked, this one is a little further from the airport than expected but the drive up there is beautiful and the hotel is very quiet. My wife doesn't really enjoy travelling as she's most comfortable in her own bed however, she had no complaints about this hotel which says a lot.

We had the best time at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. The service was exceptional and the grounds were beautiful. The rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable. The sushi restaurant in the hotel was amazing. The pool area was wonderful and the service at the pool was fast and gracious. We visited the Four Seasons to see what it was like and I am so glad we stayed at the Ritz. The Four Seasons was really crowded and too showy. People were so close to one another at the pool area and beach. We'll definitely stay at this Ritz again!

This is our third time at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. The buildings can be a little confusing to get around at first because of the multi levels. We have stayed in the club level, a higher set back room and a suite and they all had great views. The place has become a bit dated and hopefully they will be updating some of the rooms in the near future. The service is fabulous as you would expect. We love to spend time at the beach and walk along the costal path. You can get a map of the old golf course on the hillside that is now used for walking recreation. I like to get up early and walk this in the morning. Be prepared, it rains often on this side of the island, so watch the weather forecast.
Sign up for various activities and hikes offered at the hotel. The fitness center is great and has various classes throughout the day and the instructors are very knowledgable.
The coffee shop (different owner than the Ritz) has the best coffee and serves almond milk. They carry gluten free products and salads from Maui Vegan. I was so happy and could just eat there every day, with better prices too.
I don't know if we will be back for a fourth visit, you never know, but we highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Maui. If you have family the club level can be a great savings with the meal and food that they serve throughout the day.

This property is beautiful and sits in a really neat location. Beautiful beach, although we spent more time at the pool. Our 3 and 5 yr olds loved the kids pool, as well as the main pool.

The breakfast staff was very professional and courteous. They did a great job anticipating our needs/wants.

Most Hawaii travelers know each island has a dry side and a wet side. Kapalua is more on the wet end of the spectrum. It's very green and beautiful, but you do get more clouds and rain. But, we enjoy Hawaii no matter what the weather.

Room Tip: Club Level here has more offerings than most Ritz hotels. Might want to consider paying the extra.

I just returned from another fabulous stay at The Ritz Kapalua. This was my 3rd time staying here and it just never disappoints. My wife and I visited for 5 nights and had an Ocean View Club Room.

The service in the Club Room is absolutely incredible. I would highly suggest it if you can afford the extra money. The food, presentation, drinks, and extras are what you'd expect from a 5 star property and the view on the balcony is beyond peaceful and beautiful.

You must walk the Coastal Trail near the hotel. It is the most beautiful walk I have ever taken. My wife and I walk twice a day when we visit. The walk along the ocean and then over the lava rock into Kapalua Bay is breathtaking. Merriman's restaurant is at the end of the walk and is a perfect place for dinner and cocktails while watching the sunset.

If you want quiet, beauty, elegance and great service then this hotel is for you. It is my favorite hotel in Maui.

We went here for our honeymoon last year. the resort was beautiful and the food was amazing. The view overlooking the pools, towards the ocean, felt like we were looking at a post card. it was beyond picturesque! We had a phenomenal trip!!
