I stayed here for four days for a
weddîng held at Merriman's
Kapalua. Upon arrival, despite an e mail from Red Awning management stating "You're all set!", I was unable to gain access for two hours, as
the code to get in had never been furnished me, a point that was not
brought to my attention until arrival when the Villa office explained that they had no access to the pin pad codes but gave me Red Awning Management's number. Red Awning did not EVER return either of two calls I left despite waiting for an interminable time on hold and finally leaving my number for their promised 30 minute call back, as my cell phone went to 5% and the heat climbed to well over 80 degrees. I was finally able to text a local agent who let me in. God awful experience. Same lack
of ability to reach Red Awning when the air conditioner failed on day 3 and the interior heat went to a miserable 80 degrees--there are no live persons you can reach at Red Awning 's téléphone number,
just a recorded voice saying we return calls. Right.
The interior of this condo is dated (think avocado green)
but it is comfortable. The property interior had quite a few ants but they are small. Deferred maintenance items but none that were serious (Television in one
of the rooms not working, tub stopper not functioning).
The golf villas at Kapalua were very peaceful. We enjoyed the quiet location. We were there at the beginning of November when the winds from the north started picking up however the villas are on the south side of the hill ("pineapple") which sheltered us. We relaxed on the lanai every evening watching the sun sink behind the island of Lanai. The occasional rainbow would appear throughout the day. Only a short walk down the hill revealed two relaxing beaches were you could spend the entire day. Oh, there is golf too and if you favor surf boarding this would be the location with the north winds coming ashore. Great week indeed.
