“What a lovely Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2013

My husband took me to the Longlands Hotel for a romantic break this weekend, we stayed in room 8. Wow !!! what a lovely room the bed was a super king size, with lovely views a cross the way. It overlooked the lovely little court yard. In the summer it must look beautiful. The room was lovely and warm. There was a good meal deal on Three course meal and a bottle of wine for Two £30.00/ The food is lovely and the Breakfast was excellent. The staff are a treasure so polite and friendly, Nothing was too much trouble. Even the dog was sad when we left. A big thank you for a wonderful stay can not wait to go back. Thanks you Alex the Hotel Manager and the girls that waited on us for Breakfast Mrs G XX

Room Tip: Just visit the place you will love the location, no matter what room you sleep in.

Just arrived back from a relaxing weekend beeak at Longlands Cottages. We went as two families and had 2, 2 x bedroom cottages. They were fabulous. Spacious, modern and a real home from home. Loved them. We visited the farm village across the road and Carnforth Station and all had a great time. We ate in longlands inn on Saturday night. Beautiful food and reasonably priced. Busy so clearly locals use it and know its good. They put balloons up for my mums birthday and service was great. We will be visiting again and soon.

As a couple with 2 dogs we find nice modern accommodation hard to find within a good budget. Family live nearby but with 2 dogs we wanted our own space so were recommended the longlands and their cottages. The cottage was brilliant. Everything you could want and need. Beautifully equipped and presented. Only downfall was the bed and the heat. Great big bed that was very comfy until someone turned over, then it was like sleeping on a bouncy castle. But our preference is harder mattresses. The heating was very good, too good at times. Due to mezzanine level the heat rose from front room straight into the bedroom. Again our preference is a cold bedroom. We ate in the restaurant on steak night. Beautiful beautiful meal. Starters were fantastic and steaks were cooked to perfection and very tasty for £9.95 an absolute bargain. To top off a great meal one person ordered the sticky toffee pudding. Having tasted the best pudding ever! This turned into another two orders. Great wine selection to go with meal and reasonably priced. We saw at least one bottle in the local wine shop for only £5 less. I can not wait to go back again. Thank you longlands for making a great week even better!

Room Tip: Go for a cottage. £52 a night for two adults and two dogs. Bargain.

This modern, clean, motel-style establishment is just off the M6 but free from motorway noise. The room was excellent. We ate in the warm, well-appointed restaurant. Evening meal was good value, breakfast plentiful and of high quality, topped up with friendly and attentive service. Recommended as a stop-over.

The hotel is clean and spacious with decent sized rooms - the only complaint I would make would be the incredably thin walls - this was particularly noticeable in the bathroom where conversations from the next room could be overheard, but was also noticeable in the room itself.Unfortunately we were staying next to a couple who stayed up all night in the throws of passion, this lead to a sleepless night for us as well as them. The staff were very sympathetic and allowed us to move rooms the following day.

As locals, we look forward to a weekly meal together. The 'Longlands', was one chosen last (midweek, lunch time). It is a few years since we dined there, and the experience then, was excellent. Not so last week - From walking in, the reception was poor, as were the bar staff, and the food even worse! Not a memorable experience, and not a venue we shall be visiting again.

The Longlands was the venue for a private dinner last night for a local organisation. Well done to all the team I had dealings with, so very helpful and totally professional. Feedback from those who attended was fantastic, very impressed with the Lapwing room, quality of the meal and the excellent service to the guests. Everything we requested happened, nothing was too much trouble and that can only happen when the venue team are as dedicated as they are at The Longlands. Thank you again Alex, Laura and Julia and all the rest of the staff whose names I don't know, we will be back again next year.
