“Great place to visit and ist free!”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

Very well laid out museum with lots to see and do. I have family history in Newry and it was nice to chat to local staff who could help with some place names.
Next year I will be booking some time to do some research

“history and a sense of place”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

from the time before recorded history to the medieval days when the site of the museum was the site of a castle up through nineteenth century prosperity as a trading port to the Troubles of being a border town in the twentieh century, this museum does a fine job of sharing the history of the region. there's a small gallery for changing exhibitions, too, and a tourist point with welcoming staff as well. I visit every time I'm in the area and always enjoy it,

“Small but very interesting”
Reviewed 2 November 2012

This little museum is a great place to visit if you have a little bit of time to kill in Newry.
We visited with my wife's grandparents and were very impressed with the museum staff. It was very quiet, and one of the members of staff gave us more or less a guided tour of the entire place.

The exhibits were well laid out, with lots of information and the history was well explained.

Definitely worth a visit.
