We stayed at the boutique 25 for two nights and really enjoyed the hotel. Staff was very friendly and the location was great. We were able to walk to the town centre. Room was very comfortable and clean. We would stay there again.THANK YOU so much! We appreciated the location of the hotel and the cleanness. We would recommend it to everyone for a trip to skipton.

I just wanted to endorse much of the positive feedback that I've read on TA. My mother, sister and I have just had a most enjoyable 3 night stay at The Groves. My mother was in a fully accessible and spacious room on the First floor. It had recently been refurbished. My sister was in a other room on the 1st floor which was perfect. It had everything you'd need. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - our every wish was granted! Fabulous breakfast. We could definitely have had 2 rashers of bacon if we'd wanted so I don't know where that criticism comes from? Just ask for what you want - it reduces disappointment! Chances are they will be able to sort it for you! Thanks very much to you all. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed here in august as a party of five attending a nearby wedding. Upon check in, we were told to pay the balance of the room in full, but there card machine would not accept my partners card (yet it was working prior to this and also throughout the night) so we were made to pay in cash. When we arrived in our 3 bed roomed suite we were greeted by dust and a very unfinished feel towards the whole 'suite'. I do understand that there was maintenance and construction going on throughout the hotel and we did take that into consideration, but that did not excuse the dust and uncleanliness. It became apparent what kind of stay we were in for when me and my partner sat on our bed in the 'master bedroom' and the bed was completely broken straight down the middle! the friends we were with went across the road to the pub whilst me and my partner got ready and showered. we were both in the bedroom when all of a sudden the man who checked us in who we believed to be the owner walked straight into our room!! he did not knock on the door he just walked straight in! we have reason to believe that he was under the impression we were out and that he went into our room for other reasons?? he made up a story about us setting the humidity alarms off because the windows were open, yet the windows were open when we checked into the room? when we had checked in nobody had mentioned to us they lock the doors at 1am and when half of our party arrived back at the hotel about 11pm we had no idea the doors would be locked later on, which then resulted in the other half of our party being locked out the hotel ALL NIGHT and being forced to sleep in the door way!! (another guest at the hotel had to let these people in at 6am) when we got up at 7am to find some bottles of water (none supplied in this BOUTIQUE hotel) we couldn't find a single member of staff anywhere! so we had to walk to the nearby post office! i spoke to the lady on check out about our horrendous stay and she was absolutely shocked by what had happened and couldn't have been more apologetic, which we thought was sincere and she gave us a £80 refund on the room, which i thought would be the end of the whole episode! unfortunately it was not. when me and my partner got home i discovered i had left my bottle of perfume in the room, so we rang up the next morning to ask for this to be posted back to us (obviously we would pay for the postage) the lady we spoke to (the same woman from check out who was very apologetic) told my partner that the Yves saint laurent perfume which was half full had been thrown in the bin & it was tough that it was gone and then hung up the phone!! I have never ever stayed somewhere with shockingly poor customer service and I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by how we have been treat!! if you get the chance do not EVER stay here!!!!!

This is one of the little hidden gems of Yorkshire

Yes they had on going maintenance of the restaurant which will be finished in 6 weeks we are told but we would certainly recommend a visit to this ever so friendly little surprise.

Booked for me and my wife for a night away just to relax without the hassle of a long journey Skipton as a whole is a gem for locals and people from afar. The Hotel is is situated bang in the center and close by for restaurants pubs and shopping and a short walk from the train station.

Although we didnt have an evening meal here the breakfast was superb and freshly cooked to order, another must have for your visit. Quiet and peaceful nights sleep on a comfortable bed and a lovely walk in shower.

We cant wait to visit again in a couple of months when fully refurbished and enjoy an evening meal here too. Such friendly staff who couldnt do more for you with personal service.

Thankyou very much

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bath if required

8 of us stopped here on Yorkshire Tough Mudder Weekend. Would have been 9 but a late enterent to the team could only get a hotel on the outskirts of Bradford. 6 of us stopped in the roof appartments and 2 in a seperate room. We all had a great time and could all get together for wine and nibbles in the roof space before launching our attack on Skipton.
The hotel is run by a brother and sister who are really very friendly and helpful. Yes the place is being refurbished but as a listed building this will take time and much effort. So hats off to them for taking care with it.
Good hearty breakfast, a place to park the car, clean rooms and an excellent location in the centre of Skipton.
What more could you want.
Thanks from "The Tough Mudder 6" and their supporters.

Room Tip: The roof appartment is a right pad

Firstly the lack of a working web page should have set the alarm bells ringing, if you get this far do not be tempted to look at the pictures posted on trip advisor. They bare no resemblance to to what you actually get in real life. If the badly painted purple front door and scuffed garish wallpaper in the lobby aren't big enough clues themselves, the lack of socket power, en-suite taps that spun in their fittings, hairy shower tray and carpet stained so badly it must have been rescued from the local tip, stained brown bath robes,(who in their right mind would even choose a brown robe over a crisp white one, unless they were hoping it would disguise stains, which it didn't) and the mish mash of cheap chipped furniture and fittings, these would certainly set alarm bells ringing that Boutique 25 was nothing better than a DHSS B&B. The bemused manager on being informed of these basic faults in hotel keeping showed us the "suite". Neck breaking spiralling stairs that had been shoehorned in to give access to to roof space revealed an array of cast off ikea office furniture with multiple doors leading off into other spaces proudly identified by cruelly typed notices blue tacked to the walls. The master suite revealed a spacious room with free standing bath, all quite nice but unfortunately our eyes were drawn to the dead insects that decorated the white duvet. The manager's attempt to brush them off and assure us that he could get someone to deal with this issue were cold comfort to us and when we looked in the bath to find large brown stains and tide marks of soap scum our minds were made up that we could not stay.
A word of warning if you still want to stay here, don't pay up front with a credit card as they can't refund your card, a waiter from their sister restaurant has to run down to the nearest cash point and draw out your balance.
As a couple with more that 50 years catering and hospitality experience between us it begs belief that outfits like this are still taking money from unsuspecting polite folk. Do not stay here, it is rubbish.

Room Tip: Do not waste your money this place will be shut down soon.

We booked this hotel over booking.com as a pet friendly hotel. After arriving and checking in, we were called 2 hrs later that dogs are not allowed and we had to move out. Unpolite, not flexible and we found out later we were not the first customer send away after a booking a pet friendly hotel. Never left a place so angry. If the staff is accepting you at check in, they shouldn't be allowed to check you out.
Please avoid this place unpleasant at best.
